There is nothing we did not like. Some reviewers referred to 'very narrow and steep stairs'. It almost put me off booking stokoe cottage. The stairs are not narrow, nor are they particularly steep ( given the age of the house). They are also covered with thick carpet. Absolutely fine.
GBIt was a great place to stay, very comfortable in a beautiful area. I would highly recommend staying here. We will definitely be back in the future.

NZVery quirky old cottage which gives an insight of these amazing buildings that have stood the test of time. Nicely presented. Full kitchen.
Very steep and narrow stairs. The property is on 3 levels and it’s quite a workout from the ground floor to the bedroom!
GBLocation is perfect, tucked away but still right in the centre of town and all clean and tidy. Communication with the hosts was excellent and everything provided for a comfortable stay. There are books, board games and TV for a night in but we popped into the Turk's Head next door where the locals were very welcoming and dog friendly. If you're cycling in the area there's a massive utility room for secure storage.

Neighbours got a bit noisy with a domestic altercation taking place outside on the Saturday evening and children screaming whilst playing outside early Sunday morning.
GBBeautiful, spacious, truly unique with lots of interesting features and character. It’s three storeys with a really big utility/drying room and a huge kitchen that is warm and the sort of room you want to live in. Everything felt clean, fresh and well ordered. The bedroom was comfortable and the sitting room that took up the whole of the second floor was fantastic. Really recommend this place
