Hofstede Dongen Vaart

A pleasant and spacious country house. On the ground floor, there is a fully equipped and very tidy kitchen along with a large living room, and on the upper floor, three comfortable bedrooms and a large bathroom. The shower has strong water pressure. Everything is well-organized and well-maintained. Several supermarkets in the nearby town. Less than 10 min. drive to Efteling park.

The stairs to the 2nd floor are quite inconvenient, both for use and for carrying luggage up and down. At the time of our stay at the hotel, only one bedroom had AC and ceiling fan.

Hofstede Dongen Vaart is perfectly located in a small and quiet picturesque town, very close to the major attraction in this area – Efteling Park. It has a small and lovely front yard, a fully equipped kitchen, a nicely decorated living room with a special closet full of children's toys, and comfortable beds. The hosts, Sjoerd and Gwen, were warm, quick to respond, polite, and efficient. Overall, I really enjoyed staying in an old farmhouse overlooking the green fields of the Netherlands — a place with a magical atmosphere of days gone by, yet at the same time very modern, comfortable, and fully equipped with all the necessities of contemporary life.

The house has only one AC unit, located in one of the bedrooms. Due to the typical cold weather of the Netherlands this is not even noticed, accept in the pick days of July and August.

Location

It was clean and had everything you need for a pleasant stay. It was set in a beautiful location. There were even a cupboard of toys for the children.

The location was very close to Efteling.

Wij hebben ons eerste zussen & nichten weekend doorgebracht in Hofstede Dongen-Vaart. Een hele gezellige en verassend ruime accommodatie die van alle gemakken is voorzien. Op de sfeervolle beneden verdieping zijn nog originele details behouden (zoals een bedstee). De keuken is ruim en volledig ingericht. Buiten 2 terrassen waar je prima met z'n allen kun zitten/eten. Boven zijn de slaapkamers en badkamer groot en schoon. De locatie ligt rustig aan de rand van een klein dorpje; supermarkt en andere winkels/voorzieningen zijn dichtbij in Dongen en/of Oosterhout. Host Gwen was goed bereikbaar, heel vriendelijk, service gericht en heeft ons op zaterdag van een heerlijk ontbijt voorzien (aanrader!).

Very cosy and spacious house, in a rural area perfectly located to visit the Efteling, the best amusement park in The Netherlands.

Excellence place to stay, the historic charm of the building is wonderful, and great location. The owners were very friendly and accommodating.

The house was brilliant. And the owners were amazing. They helped us a lot on our last day as our car broke down. They welcomed us with very nice chocolates and they kept in touch with us daily. Very comfortable place. There were lots of facilities in the house. The rooms were very big. Perfect for families with kids as plenty of toys and games in there. For us the location was excellent as we were visiting Efteling. I would recommend it and I would be very happy to come back and stay there.
