Casa Do Pescador Olhão

This house over 3 floors is genuinely exceptional. Beautifully restored fisherman's cottage just 3 minutes from the beachfront. The most amazing top floor balcony has interesting views of local life on 3 sides. Overall, a haven and a priviledge to stay in. Owners take great pride in this house and do all the cleaning and support themselves. They even gave us a lift to the train station. Olhao is a great bolt hole, a place where, out of season, you can get absorbed in local life. Definitely not a party town.

The stairs are necessarily steep and narrow but easy to get used to. Perhaps not for the unsteady on their feet! Otherwise nothing I would change.

Superb hosts who met us on arrival and were available by phone, if needed.. Fantastic roof terrace in a beautifully renovated traditional home. Everything you needed to make a comfortable stay. Easy walk down the street to the waterfront, market with lots of restaurants and bars. A small supermarcada few steps down the street which sells many things. A very comfortable bed, located in coolest part of the house - ground floor - with double shower & basins in adjoining bathroom.

Steep stone steps between floors, ok for us but wouldn’t be suitable for people with mobility problems.

Loved the house and the location. Teun and Jenny were so helpful when we arrived and when we left as we had a later flight. They went out of their way to help us. The roof terrace is such a lovely place to spend time as the sun goes down.

Loved this place - pictures don't do it justice! The house and its features are beautiful. It was clean, cozy, and it has a very nice terrace for relaxing and making dinner. Teun and Jenny are so friendly and welcoming, and we instantly felt comfortable in the house. The town, Olhão, is also amazing. There are lots of restaurants, and the boats to the nearby islands with beaches have frequent service and are very convenient. There's also a mini-market very close by. I highly recommend.

Friendly couple. The house was clean and the terrace was really nice. It has all the kitchen essentials. Ar conditioner. A 5 minute walk to the main part of Olhão. The hosts left us a bottle of bubbly and cheese to mark our anniversary!

The stairs were really tight. The downstairs part has lack of ventilation, even with the window open there is still a damp odor. The bedroom needs better insulation (specially in the extra door). If you happen to stay there on a busy Saturday night you will not able to sleep until late in the night. The road is very busy, it only calms down at 2AM or 3AM. If you are looking for a place to rest, this will not be the place. But if you are looking to live like a local and be close to the main streets and market, then this is it.

Beautifully restored old fisherman's dwelling in the old part of town, full of character and well equipped with all modern conveniences. Very friendly and helpful owners met us on arrival, and showed us around the property. They gave us lots of suggestions of places to visit and eat out.

Lovely house in the old fishermans quarter of Olhao. Close to all the restaurants and bars. Jenny and Teun were friendly and attentive hosts. There is a lovely rooftop terrace with barbeque, fridge and basin for alfresco dining. Highly recommended.

We highly recommend this property. It was perfect in every way and exceeded our expectations. It has been renovated in keeping with its heritage and is a comfortable base from which to explore the area. Restaurants, shops and cafes are all within easy access and the property was extremely well equipped with everything we could need for our stay. Teun and Jenny were perfect hosts, greeting us on our arrival and providing valuable information.

Beautifully renovated little house with a great shower and roof terrace. Jenny and Tuen were the most helpful and considerate of hosts.

Amazing property, balcony and original stonework was very impressive. His and her sink and showers! Washer/drier. Lots of other amenities. Nearby to food market. Hosts very friendly and helpful.

Some noise due to location, but otherwise great.
