The Snug

The fact that there was no instructions on hiw to start the gas cooker & hiw to activate the microwave.

The sofa is absolute rubbish. We ended up bringing in camp chairs to sit on. This is the sole reason I wouldn’t go back there

By the pictures, we thought The Snug would be a little more isolated. That being said, we had a very nice view of the mountains from our living room window and deck. We went out and gazed at the stars at night with little light pollution. The Snug was very clean and well stocked with a full sized fridge and oven. The bedroom was cosy and well decorated with a comfortable bed. Good shower and bathroom overall! The red lounge sofa was fairly comfortable, but we wondered why there was no coffee table. However, on our last night, we discovered the handy bean bag trays on which to set our tea. The property management company was efficient and friendly in their responses.

Twizel is the stopping place for a tour of south Isalnd NZ after leaving Christchurch and the Snug provided a lovely way to get the feel for a local community. The township has everything to offer the new traveller and the Snug met all our needs with facilities and local access to cafe's restaurants and shopping. It is a basic no frills accommodation yet charming in its own right...it was just right for us. It's easy to stay in 5* accommodation but then you cannot get the feel for the country and the warmth of its people. The name Snug is apt, with lovely views of the distant hills and mountains, for there are places to visit nearby to keep discerning travellers very happy.

A small light by the front door would help access at night due to the steps to the front door.

This home was lovely, clean, and comfortable. It had all the everyday necessities we needed (kitchenware, towels and soaps) and the location was convenient to grocery stores, gas, and restaurants. The location was also perfect for a couple of days spent in Aoraki/Mt. Cook National Park, and had a lovely view out over the fields and mountains from the living room window.

Very clean & warm..

Loved the views of the hills with and without snow. It was a very cosy place, very comfortable bed with crisp linens, hot shower and great wifi - everything we needed for a great 4 night stay.
