"Lovely short stay"

9.0

Very clean, lovely furnishings and very comfortable. Everything you need and a very reasonable price. We would have loved to stay longer. We would definitely consider staying again.

The only thing that put me off was the walk up to the property. We went for a lovely walk into Whitby but the walk back finished us off walking back up the inclined drive

"Christmas Birthday Trip"

7.0

A nice welcome back was appreciated.

The steep bank to property will be a problem in bad weather. The cottage was cold when we arrived but soon warmed when we put heating on. Unfortunately the under sink cupboard had been visited by mice who had chewed up sponges and washing liquid bottle and left lots of droppings. After reporting this to owner she pointed out that we were in the countryside and this can be expected to happen and did refund us about 10 days later £40 which is her cleaners fee but we were expected to clean up the mess. If you don't have a problem with mice then this prob won't bother you but if you have a fear of them this might not be the property for you despite it being very clean and comfortable and of a nice quality decor throughout the rest of the property. As this was a trip away for my Birthday it just spoilt it a little.

"Great location, a few minor issues"

6.0

Lovely location and a well appointed, comfortable cottage. We appreciated the snacks on arrival and a real bonus was the barn owl hunting right outside the window. Would certainly consider staying here again.

On arrival there was an overpowering smell of cigarette smoke throughout the property but especially strong in the kitchen area which we only just managed to air out by the time we left. For a non smoking accommodation this was extremely disappointing. There was also an awful repetitive noise which we eventually tracked down to what we think is an electronic rodent deterrent unit, once rebooted this stopped. We also had difficulty keeping the cottage at a consistent temperature. A smaller constructive point, the kitchen is fairly well equipped but a set of steak knives would be useful, the knives in the cutlery set barely cut anything.

"Overall not bad"

7.0

Good location, good price, comfortable beds and pillows. Well equipped kitchen. Views and wildlife.

The overall cottage is tired, some mold on ceilings in bedroom. Sofas uncomfortable, shower had poor pressure, WiFi didn't work so couldn't stream any tv. TV is quite old too so telly quality poor. Damp smell in the rooms but we bought air freshener.
