Location, easy walk into Malton and ideal base for exploring the surrounding area. The cottage had everything required for a comfortable stay.

Lovely property, spacious and clean and within easy walking distance to the Market Place in Town and the Station. Plenty of shops and restaurants in and around Malton, some very good and reasonably priced dining. The local Pubs are also highly recommended. The flat is nothing to look at from where you park the car, BUT do not let this put you off, its very nice and comfortable inside. We stayed for 4 nights and used the train to travel to York one day and Scarborough another, cheap and easy days out. We will definitely be staying here again. Highly recommended flat, just far enough from the centre of town to be nice and quiet. The flat also has a big garden facing west, so if you do get some fine weather there's somewhere very pleasant to sit and soak up the sun.

The property was attractively furnished and was incredibly comfortable. There was plenty of space for the 3 adults in our party.

There was nothing we didn’t like, either about the property or the location.

We chose West Garth Cottage due to its location to Eden Camp, we knew we'd spend all day there and didn't want to stay too far away. We've stayed in a few places via Booking.com and this was the best by far. Clean, good facilities, a comfy bed (I slept in the en suite bedroom), a well equipped kitchen, a large garden space (oh, what a blank canvas to have!), comfy seating area with TV and table for dining at. Having two bathrooms was a bonus. Previous comments mention the cottage exterior, obviously a permanent residence might have a hanging basket or two but come on, the property itself is fabulous! - who sits outside the front door looking at their holiday rental entrance anyway?! (which had a good sized space to park off road, FYI). Recycling wasn't an issue as each box had items inside to give us a clue! Plus we only did minimal cooking/eating at the property. Malton is a nice place to mooch around, within walking distance. Plenty of places to have a drink or a bite to eat after a day's exploration. Had tea at the New Derwent Bistro (lovely) and Speedy Pepper takeaway did nice burgers and pizza's too. Asda and Morrison supermarkets nearby if you need any supplies. Visited Whitby and York, both not far away. Chose to get the train into York rather than take the car, this took approx half an hour from Malton Station which was about a 10 minute walk from the cottage. York by bus would be cheaper - bus stop at the end of the road - but it takes longer, at least an hour. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at West Garth Cottage and would definitely come back again.

I'm sure I could delve into the minutiae to find something we didn't like if I really tried - a fallen leaf on the grass, the wind daring to rustle too loudly?! but really, for a few days away from home this place was fab, a great base to explore from and furnished to a good standard. PS, I am not related to, nor do I know the owners, I just felt the need to write a good review after an enjoyable stay =0)
