West Garth Cottage

Excellent position within easy walking distance to Malton centre. Quiet enclosed back garden. All furniture was in good condition, as were all the crockery etc.

We made the mistake of not bringing shower & shampoo, as the photos showed these items were in both bathrooms - maybe photos need updating.

Very convenient location very well equipped comfortable beds. Great kitchen with products and tea coffee & milk. Would make a great base for family holiday as plenty to do nearby. Even a big garden for children

No room in the dustbins, fridge needs defrost

Proximity to the town of Malton

The outside definitely needed upgrading it had no kerb appeal. The sheets on the bed need upgrading and some of the electric sockets didn’t work. Also there was no shower gel or shampoo supplied.

Very well maintained property and close to Malton town centre.

Front door key a little fiddly to operate. Shower (cold tap) in ensuite did not work. Could have done with more tea towels - only 1!

Plenty of space, and location to town centre, reasonably priced

It looks good at a glance with recently installed kitchen, but is actually very superficial with rather a lot of ersatz pictures on the walls. There is very little kitchen equipment for guest use. The owner had already been informed there was no cafetiere, yet hadn't bothered replaced it. As a coffee drinker this is an essential piece of equipment, neither was there a tea strainer, and the bottle opener was broken. When asked by text message about the items the reply was very nonchalant. The dining room chairs and sofa are very scruffy and need replacing. The duvet on the bed is very thin and pillows thin and lumpy, the fitted sheet didn't fit very well and was very old, I was cold over night, there were no spare blankets. No toilet brush in the en-suite bathroom, no toiletries provided. A distinct lack of books or games for guest use. The owner needs to up her game to make this a really nice place to stay.
