"Excellent cottage - we will definitely return."

Lovely cottage in a very pretty Rutland village. Ideally situated for the Rutland Sailing Club, where our son was competing. The Horse & Jockey pub was nearby and served excellent food. Highly recommend Picks Barn cafe in nearby Lyndon - excellent food and drink, and dog-friendly inside and out!

"Lovely, dog friendly, cottage"

10.0

Great little cottage equipped with everything you need. Our hosts left us few goodies and a welcome message, for us humans and the dog. Bed very comfortable, good quality bedding and towels, nice and spacious bathroom. Utility room was a bonus after a wet walk. Pub a minute walk away from the cottage served good food and was pleasant and cosy. Nice places to walk with the dog near by and a great base to explore Rutland. Cottage has everything you can think of, its basically a home away from home. We had a lovely weekend there and would definitely recommend. Don't be put off by the stairs - My 75 year old mother in law had a knee replacement surgery 6 months ago and she had no problems walking up and down the stairs.

Met the owner Ben on arrival as he was just sorting finishing touches. Was great to meet him and had a nice chat, very friendly. Nice touch was the exceptional welcome pack left by the owners, loved the treats, thank you, they were also very accommodating with requests for early arrival/late departure. Cottage is perfectly located for a visit to Rutland and can also recommend a meal at the Horse and Jockey which is about 2 minutes walk away. Beautiful cottage garden with furniture for a family to eat outside and parking right outside the door. Beds were extremely comfortable which you don't always find when staying away and everything you could need was there.

As explained in the advert, the stairs have a low ceiling but you need to bend to avoid this while going round a bend on the stairs. Uneven landing with a few steps to watch out for, just the age and character of the cottage. This being said, would not stop me returning but may be difficult for anyone with mobility issues. Might benefit from a different chair in the main bedroom for sitting at the dressing table as current one very low
