Bumblebee Cottage

A very nicely set up place. Very roomy. We were able to access our planned places to visit easily from there. A lot of scenery close by. The host responded quickly to any questions we had. Easy access in and leaving. I would definitely stay there again.

We had one issue with the heating system, the host responded quickly and tried to get it dealt with, but a 3 day weekend made it impossible. Fortunately, there was a wood burning stove to help and the host delivered more material. A manageable problem. I would stay there again.

Back garden needs some TLC.

The home was lovely, and we were able to book it on the day that we needed it, due to an unexpected issue with another booking, and the property owner was very friendly and helpful. They suffered thru us Americans not understanding Irish home plumbing and electric working with terrific patience! Home well appointed and beautiful. Situated well for sightseeing.

The twin bedroom was lacking. The mattress was very uncomfortable, and there was no desk or mirror.

Glenn and Mary were really helpful and responded quickly to any questions we had regarding the property

It was great there was nothing not to like

Great house with all the facilities even a wood burner which was great for February in Donegal. And Glen even provided us with some turf, coal and logs. Shop and pubs across the road. Few miles away from St John's point and Killybegs.

Nothing

The cottage was very homely, clean, and very well equipped. The kitchen had everything you could possibly need. The bedrooms were all a good size, and the bathroom had a bath and shower with toiletries As the weather was wet, windy, and cold, we used the log burner every night, which gave off lots of heat and made the house feel very cosy. There was absolutely no mistaking the name of the cottage, as there were bumblebee items everywhere you turned! The cottage was also dog friendly, which was an extra bonus. We didn't meet the hosts Glen & and Mary, but they were always very helpful and courteous in their correspondence.

There wasn't much to do or see in Dunkineely, but it had a great little Mace shop opposite the cottage, which was very handy. We were nonetheless still happy with the location as it was just a few kms away from so many places. The quilts in the bedrooms were very thick and heavy - but I imagine that that is simply a matter of personal choice!
