The Stables at Lower Carr Barn

Loved everything about this stay, photos don’t do this place justice. The owners have thought of everything here, and it was all immaculate. Will be recommending this to everyone and already planning on when we can come back!

Only regret is that we didn’t stay for longer

Property was immaculate and hosts had thought of everything to make this a perfect getaway. We stayed the night before our son’s wedding and the facilities were perfect for a night of happy relaxation. We were made very comfortable and welcomed by the host, where nothing was too much trouble for them. Also, the pub nearby was lovely with very friendly staff and great pizzas!

Perfect location, amazing views with lots to do at the property. Very child friendly , my 5 year old had an amazing stay. Simon was very welcoming and made our stay comfortable and enjoyable. We will definitely be returning

I loved the area! It was close to the centre of Halifax but just far enough out for it to feel quiet and tucked away! Stephanie and Stephen were lovely! I bring some decorations to dress the place up as it was my anniversary and they did such a good job at putting them up! I appreciated it so much. Love the games room and the hot tub! Both were a nice touch.

I loved everything about the property!

The property itself was absolutely lovely, clean, comfortable, and in a beautiful setting. We genuinely couldn’t fault the accommodation or its facilities.

However, the experience surrounding the booking was a complete nightmare. Despite having confirmation from Booking.com that my stay was fully paid, the booking was suddenly cancelled half way through the stay without warning, and the owner arrived at the door demanding payment directly, insisting we transfer the money to his personal account within five minutes. This was intimidating and completely uncalled for, especially while we were away with two young children. I ended up reluctantly transferring the amount he demanded, just to avoid further confrontation. This should have been handled entirely through Booking.com, not through direct pressure from the owner during our holiday. The stress of all this took away from what should have been a break away, which then left the rest of the trip completely awkward. It’s such a shame, because the property itself was perfect, but the way this situation was handled completely overshadowed our stay.

Amazing location and very peaceful. The lodge was beautiful and couldn’t book a better place for my boyfriend’s birthday. The owners were very friendly and welcoming (and the sheep!).We made use of the hot-tub and board games so we had plenty to do with the couple of days we spent there :)
