The Stables at Lower Carr Barn

Basically everything. This accommodation has so many wonderful things I could write about it, I reccommend staying here if one is in the area and has the opportunity. There are lovely sheep on the property, a fully appointed kitchen - it's really a home away from home space. One of the nicest stays I had in the UK. If you're visiting Shibden: this is an excellent place to stay with a vegetarian-friendly pub very nearby should you wish to order in.

The location is fabulous. We are a couple with a rescue terrier. The enclosed garden was absolutely perfect. The owner has also installed a secure gate and we felt safe but also secluded. The facilities are absolutely lovely and the owner has obviously made this a labour of love to guests. The bedroom is a great size and looks out onto a field with sheep. Bed was very comfy with plenty of storage and plugs for chargers. The kitchen is well-equipped and had a coffee machine that made me a very happy bunny in the mornings. The owner also left us some eggs from his chickens which were DIVINE in the mornings. The bathroom is lovely with a towel warmer and walk in shower with great pressure. I also made use of the drying rack. The couch is comfy and made for cozy evenings. The outdoor garden is accessed by either the front door or the back doors, which open up all the way. I had my coffee at the table in the mornings accompanied by bird song and the odd opinion from the sheep in the field. The jacuzzi is a perfect size and the owner keeps tablets stocked for chlorination and gave us a demonstration when we arrived. We also felt there was plenty of privacy. The outdoor lights can be operated remotely, which is a clever touch. There is an outdoor grill area as well. The games room is an absolute delight and is well stocked with boardgames and a 3-1 table for pool, table tennis and air hockey. Everything was taken care of for us, even fresh milk in a glass bottle. The owner and his family are nearby but never intrusive and we felt secluded in our little air bnb bubble. There is an Asda close by and the location is also great for accessing the surrounding areas. We will be back and really enjoyed our relaxing stay at Lower Carr Barn.

That we didn't book a longer stay!

What a beautiful place! We loved staying here for our anniversary. It's well kitted out with everything you need, and the games room is great! It's nice and private and dog friendly. Also in a great location for exploring Halifax and we went for a nice long walk through Norwood Green and Judy woods. Hopefully be coming back next year, would recommend!

From arriving to leaving we were met by brilliant hosts, the place was immaculate and there were lots of hidden extras, bonus was rhe play area for our little boy enjoy. The hosts were always welcoming for or boy ro play with their lovely little boy too. Was nice so we could have a chill. Our boy enjoyed himself so much he didn't want to leave the barn. Found a lovely pub up the road within walking distance. Asda just 3 minute drive and we travelled to other places in Halifax. Was a great stay over all and would stay again. Thank you for a lovely anniversary stay.

Unfortunately the pub right next door was closed due to unforseen circumstances

We stayed the night of our wedding so checked in super late but they were so accommodating as we had let them know before hand. Lovely private outside area! Facilities were excellent! Can’t fault it!

Great location to get into Halifax for a concert. It was very clean and we made use of the hot tub and games room.
