The house was nice and spacious

For the price we paid for two nights in December, the house needed a little TLC. For example, outside the property, there was no porch light, which would have really helped when trying to unlock the door and getting my elderly mother into the property. There is also a broken gutter above the entranceway which continually dripped water. Under normal circumstances, this wouldn't particularly bother me, but when the temperature was below freezing, the water, which ran down a downslope, froze over night. In the morning it was lethal even for us that were able-bodied, never mind my Mum. Inside, the door handle to the living room came off in my hand when I tried to open it from the inside (it was clearly already unsecured before we arrived). The front of the cutlery drawer was also hanging off. Finally, the shower head in one of the bathrooms could not be secured, so it was difficult to have a good shower in it. None of these issues was a deal-breaker and otherwise it was a clean, warm and spacious property, but for the quite high price that was paid, these little snags shouldn't be there (they're not difficult to fix).

Beautiful location and fabulous house! Full of character and so pretty. Beautiful woodland surroundings and great peace and tranquillity. Only minor issues with house- seal on back door was missing and utility area filling with rainwater as a result. Also blind in one bedroom was broken and kitchen worktop badly scratched.
