Old Barrel Store - Old Town. Parking & Garden

Perfect location. Comfortable beds. Nice to have a garden space and parking spot in the centre of Margate. We made use of beach towels, foldable chairs for the beach, and the DVD collection. Nice to have a dishwasher, although the larger dinner plates don't fit in it well.

The road leading up to the parking spot is quite uneven and can be tight due to other cars, although after parking once it was not hard to repeat the manoeuvre when needed to get back in.

Keys were easy to locate - but had to call to understand where to park the car. As their were workmen working in the area. PERFECT LOCATION and the added bonus of a parking space.

Needs a little tidy up in terms of decoration. Also couldn't work the TV (NOT a major issue). Also side note: the shower divider doesn't touch the bath, so when showering water goes under it and onto the floor.

Not much. We could walk to our gig at Dreamland....it has a parking space and a courtyard.

Where do I begin? Shabby front door and weed ridden entry didn't bode well. Smell of damp when we opened the front door, slightly dirty "old person" smell upstairs. Everything shabby and not in a shabby chic way. Advertised bbq didn't exist so all the food we'd brought had to be re-thought. Fridge door wouldn't close because the ice box was so iced up - 25 minutes spent clearing it so all our food didn't go to waste. Grill doesn't work, so back up plan given no bbq failed too. Beds are ancient, squeaky and horrible mattresses. Furniture cheap, nasty and ancient, shabby. Grim decor. Tiny, can't swing a cat bedrooms. The courtyard was useful because we really didn't want to sit down indoors (pets are accepted and you just feel sure this is somewhere they do not have a flea eradication programme) and luckily for the few hours we stayed we had good weather. We were booked in for two nights but left directly after our gig on the first evening. No way we could bring ourselves to sleep there. Two messages sent to the hosts remained unanswered.

It would be useful to have tissues and a bin in the bedroom & a slip mat for the shower

Location was great. Information well put together. Bread left & eggs + tea bags

Felt like it was in a fairly poor state of repair; quite literally papering over the cracks. It seemed superficially clean, but smelt fusty - just like it needed a deep clean. Windows quite dirty. Heavy furniture/overpowering decor made it feel claustrophobic upstairs. Check out of 9.30am brutal.

Parking for one car was a huge bonus in Margate old town. The outdoor garden was a bonus in the heatwave. Everything imaginable was provided. Excellent location in the old town a stroll from the beach and Turner Contemporary.

Had to remove the 15 tog duvets in the heatwave but not a problem and fans were provided.

Great location, beautiful property where hosts really had thought about everything. Was great to have milk and bread and eggs left for us to use. It really had everything you'd ask for

Really cozy house, fully equipped with everything you need. Clean linen and towels.

The dishwasher was a bit rusty
