Holly Lodge

De plek zelf is prachtig , gelegen net boven de prachtige rivier , veel activiteiten boten / sport . De accomodatie was toch minder , we hebben vaak in vergelijkbare huisjes gezeten waarbij duidelijk de trots van de eigenaren zichtbaar was , deze keer de indruk dat er voornamelijk financieel voordeel gehaald moest worden . Hygiene was beperkt , bv veel dode vliegen in de aanbouw , stof in de slaapkamer zoals onder het bed . De breedte van het bed van 140 cm was ook best erg smal , en niet van deze tijd. Nadat bleek dat de tv zenders niet deden direct contact opgenomen , maar we hebben de gehele tijd zonder tv gezeten , toch jammer oa met wk dames voetbal ed , eigenaar wou ook niet komen ( zat op 2 uur rijden )

Our stay was very relaxing, the beds were excellent, we slept well.. We had everything we needed within the lodge. The shower was nice and hot, and the heaters were really good so not cold at all.. We met some nice people and one particular gentleman took us for a ride on his boat which was lovely.. We didn’t really wanna leave.

There was a few minor things!! To get to the lodge you have to park and walk across the canal bank which isn’t ideal with having to lug your things over The outside of the lodge looked like it hadn’t been cleaned or swept in ages and the table/chairs had all moss and bird poo all over it .. We cleaned them and swept the moss over by the cart..

The lodge is in a lovely position by the river. We were welcomed with some chocolates and biscuits on the table. The host was very helpful and was happy to let us depart late on our leaving day as they didn’t have another guest waiting to go in that day. Thank you, we hope to return.

This idilic cottage located just a stone’s throw from the river Yare, with superb views and the peace and tranquility of being away from it all. An abundance of wildlife and birds seen from the comfort of the conservatory

This property is a little tired looking in certain rooms, and would benefit from a touch of paint. The location of the property did not allow for car parking and the access from the car to the property was a 300 yard walk across a grassed field. Thankfully, there was a trolley to use to help transport our luggage etc.

The location was perfect for us. It’s a lovely place to relax and watch the birds and boats. It is also within walking distance of 2 great pubs and easy driving distance of many great places in Norfolk and Suffolk. The cottage itself is beautifully fitted out and very well equipped.

The house was just wonderfully located close to the river, with a very nice view from the beautiful winter garden. We enjoyed the winter garden very much! The house offered everything, nothing was missing. The garden (with a beautiful old oak tree) was fenced so that our dog could go outside alone, no need to observe him. Elaine was very helpful and friendly if we had questions. This was the most beautiful location we had in the UK so far.

No impact for us, but the parking lot was about 200 m from the house across grass.

Solitude but close to facilities

We loved the location of this cottage and enjoyed watching the river and the wildlife. We had a nice welcome pack on arrival of basic foods and milk.. The cottage was clean and comfortable . We enjoyed not having any traffic noise, and the provided trolley was perfect for taking our luggage from the car . We were visiting family in Norwich, so the location was the perfect combination of being a short drive from the city but also of being in the countryside with river walks. etc.
