Kina Beach Cottages

Great location. Quiet location with elevated stunning outlook over vines and to the estuary. Nice touch with basket of breakfast homemade goodies (bread, jams, butter etc), fresh homemade biscuits and a complimentary bottle of the vineyards' wine. Exceptionally clean and very comfortable property. Well equipped kitchen, nice outdoor area with gas BBQ. Absolutely no major gripes from us! We loved it.

Nothing much to gripe about at all in terms of the cottage and location. It is a lovely property and the cottage we stayed in was exceptional. Only two things I would change - fridge that has the freezer on the bottom rather than the top because bending down to get in/out the fridge frequently was a nuisance for two reasonably tall people - we were virtually on our knees! And the only other thing would be to replace the small frying pan that appeared a little "worn" and had lost its non-stick coating. Bed was comfortable, although a little "firm" - a mattress topper would make it just a bit more cosy. I felt the price for this property was a tad expensive compared to similar properties we have stayed in, in the same location, and which are equally as nice.

From the moment I walked through the door, there was a warm welcoming feeling. Chico the host had left a variety of homemade foods, flowers and a bottle of the vineyard’s wine to enjoy on the beautiful deck overlooking the vineyard and sea. She even came by with freshly baked bread to meet and welcome me. The schoolhouse was bathed in light from all the windows and the furnishings high end and comfortable. The bathroom had a wonderful shower and the bedroom cozy, with beautiful curtains to blacken the room. The schoolhouse has lots of charm and is the perfect place to unplug from the world but still is close to Motueka and also less than an hour into Nelson. Day trips are easily made and it is a 5 minute walk to the beach where one can ramble for miles. It was fun to sit on the deck and watch the vineyard workers prepare the vines for the upcoming harvest. Be prepared for farm equipment noise some days, but that is also part of the charm. I will definitely be back to share this “special” cottage with my husband.

Only thing missing for me was a plunger coffee press. Everything else was charming.

Stan's Cottage was perfect for me as a solo traveler here on business, mixed with holiday. The setting, views, and privacy were amazing. The fresh baked cookies, granola, bread and cereal were a welcome treat. The refrigerator was stocked with a large container of yogurt, fresh milk and a beautiful bowl of cherries. Everything I needed for a simple breakfast for several days! I highly recommend Stan's Cottage.

The accommodation was amazing. Furnished with a lot of love. Chico also created a Christmas atmosphere, which was great. A highlight was the wine from the winery and the home-baked bread. You have a beautiful view. We can recommend the cottage and would definitely come back.

We had an outstanding stay at the Old Schoolhouse. The owner made the property turning into our home from the beginning. The stay there was an absolute dream, the view and the interior have been one of a kind. We highly recommend a stay there for everybody who wants to create everlasting memories. We had an unforgettable holiday and want to send gratitude to the owner for their passionate service. We will definitely come back.
