Dove cottage

Viv the host came to greet us and said the key safe was already open.

Maybe more information about the cottage, for example instructions on how the cooker worked, we found the switch to turn on the heated towel rail 5 days into our stay. There were tea and coffee and some condiments in the kitchen which was very thoughtful. Also washing up liquid and a cloth. The bathroom had shower gel etc, great if you forgot something or visiting from outside the UK.

Location ideal, minute walk to the beach. Comfy beds, well equipped cottage, easy driving distance to Silloth and Maryport.

Shower slightly hard to get comfortable temperature.

Vera, our host, was friendly and fun. Very helpful indeed. The location was beautiful, peaceful, and relaxing. A wonderful place to return to after a long day visiting the numerous historical and majestic sites. Stunning views from the doorway, a beautiful empty beach to bird watch, let my dogs have a run around and sniff, collect sea glass and broken shells, or just be still and take it all in. Watch the brilliant colours of the sunset behind Scotland's hills. The cottage was larger than it appears in the photos. It was immaculate and cosy with everything that we needed. I would definitely go back.

Small but perfectly formed cottage just 1 minute from a huge quiet beach.

I haven't got anything bad to say.

The location was excellent, literally on the beach.

If I was to be petty the oven was a challenge because the settings were worn off so it was guess work but we managed.

Great location very close to big quiet beach and lovely walks along lanes too. Vera very friendly and helpful. Perfect compact and very comfortable cottage- even our nervous dog felt quickly at home! Fab birdwatching at nearby nature reserve, and 2 lovely nearby pubs. Skylarks soaring and singing over the fields all day long. Did not want to leave so soon!

Lovely location with lovely views, cottage is very cosy with everything you could possibly need provided, Vera the owner is such a lovely host she has a wealth of knowledge about the local area where to eat shops etc we all had a wonderful weekend and will definitely return

Nothing to dislike

Very cosy and quiet. Easy access to all the facilities. Hosts went above and beyond to cater for everyone. Hosts came to greet us which was very nice of them, good communication. Cottage was lovely and clean!

The shower temperature kept changing, went from scorching hot to cold constantly
