Casa da Portela

It’s a beautifully renovated quirky cottage & the hosts are so lovely & welcoming . It’s a comfortable peaceful & very relaxing space. The hosts offer a fantastic service to pick up / drop off from the village (a huge relief after a long day on the Camino) & then for us they did an extra run back down to the village because I left my phone in the supermarket!

Sehr steile Treppe zum Schlafbereich .

O alojamento,excedeu as espectativas. O pequeno almoço muito completo e variado. A anfitriã sempre muito amável, solicita e disponível. O caminho para o alojamento, para quem não tem transporte é um pouco íngreme,a Marília, mandou mensagem, email sempre a lembrar que era melhor ir nos buscar. Agradecemos muito a amabilidade . O alojamento é muito acolhedor e fica num lugar muito sossegado, longe da azáfama do trânsito, ótimo para descansar, ideal para quem faz os caminhos de Santiago, que não sendo o nosso caso (fomos apenas conhecer Caminha de comboio),o facto de ter transporte de ida e volta e ainda amavelmente nos levar onde quiséssemos para comprar o jantar é tornar a estadia excepcional.Ps. Tem cozinha equipada com placa e restante utensílios para fazer ou apenas aquecer refeições.

Esta experiência, não podia ter corrido melhor, senão tivéssemos escolhido a Casa da Portela. Obrigado á Marília pela sua hospitalidade e simpatia. Bem haja.

The location is not optimal for someone walking the Camino de Santiago. However the owner offers pickup and drop off service making location irrelevant for someone on foot. The unit is somewhat rustic but very charming. However if you are much over 1.8 meters/6 feet tall the ceiling is very low and could be an issue. All in all it felt very cozy.

Host was exceptionally kind

It was up a steep hill but this wasn’t a big deal as host even offered us free transport for this. We pushed our bikes and it was fine!

Sehr nette Gastgeber, wir wurden im Ort abgeholt und am Folgetag zum Fährtaxi nach Spanien gebracht. Tolles Frühstück und sehr gemütliche und individuell eingerichtete Unterkunft.

Da ist nichts auszusetzen

Marilia and her husband are so hospitable! She prepared a wonderful vegetarian breakfast, and after her husband took us to drop off our luggage in the town, and even drove us to the boat taxi pickup!

The only small suggestion for improvement would be to have a power strip near each bed, so travelers can more easily charge their devices.
