La Casa di Gianni

The view over Matera was simply stunning! We loved the location, with an easy walk to historic sites and excellent nearby restaurants. The facilities were clean and comfortable. Although in the limited traffic zone (ZTL), the clear parking instructions made everything easy. A wonderful stay — we’d definitely recommend!

That's a very nice apartment in the sassi. It has all the modern comports -- in an authentic house. You can enjoy an incredible panorama view of the city from the bedroom window. The location is strategic -- in the sassi, yet close to the new city (transportation etc).

Bon emplacement dans Matera. A la limite intérieure de la ZTL. Aménagé avec goût et très propre. Propriétaires disponibles et charmants si besoin.

Un torchon, des bols un peu plus grands, une cafetière, une table plus appropriée au petit déj ( notamment) n'auraient pas été de trop.

Amazing view from the room. Short walk into the ZTL zone from where we could park. Effective air conditioning on 40 degree Celsius day.

Should have specified that we needed bedding for the pullout/sleeper sofa since my child is 15 and would rather sleep on couch than with his mother.

From the moment we arrived, our stay at La Casa di Gianni was unforgettable. Paola gave us clear and helpful check-in instructions, making our arrival smooth and stress-free. We were immediately amazed by how well-kept the interior of the house is. The semi-round stone ceiling gives the space a unique charm and character. Thanks to the traditional stone structure, the house remains naturally cool—we didn't even need to use the air conditioning. The home itself is both cozy and spacious. The bed was incredibly comfortable; we fell asleep almost instantly. We also loved the modern bathroom, which was not only beautifully designed but also well stocked with shampoo and shower gel. The kitchen was fully equipped, allowing us to cook lovely meals during our stay. One of the true highlights was the view. Waking up to the breathtaking sights of the Sassi and the Duomo, right in front of us, was simply unforgettable. We parked our car at Garage Damasco and walked to the house. The location is perfect—just a short stroll to the heart of the Sassi district. Out of all the places we stayed during our trip to Italy, La Casa di Gianni was hands down our favourite. It deserves more than a 10 out of 10!

The apartment is beautiful. Very well located and so gorgeously done. A dream. Easy check in. Excellent host. Highly recommended.

With a city location parking is always going to be a premium so plan and liaise with the host that will help you find a suitable location.

Amazing bed, the best of all our trip, great location in magical Matera, good value.
