Fisherman's Cottage

Great instructions to access the cottage. The apartment has everything you need for a few days stay. Shower water pressure was fantastic and very warm. Awesome to have a coffee plunger provided as that is what we use at home. Great storage but we couldn't hang clothes in the bedroom wardrobe facing the road as they started to take on a musky smell. The wardrobe smelt unpleasant. We took them out and hang them on a clothes rack in second bedroom. Fantastic location - quiet area but within a short walk to all the shops, restaurants, walking paths. Chester is a beautiful place to stay and experience.

Steps to the bedroom are very steep and taking suitcases up very difficult. The house needs a deep clean. It was very musky and grimy in areas, cob webs visible. I have since seen this in many previous reviews. The courtyard looked amazing in the photos but was a mess and not inviting at all - we there in beautiful sunny conditions and did not use it due to the state it was in. For safety purposes the bathroom needs a handrail - getting into a very high bath with shower over it would prove very difficult for elderly people. We stayed for six nights and thought for the price of the property being supplied with two rolls of toilet paper was a tad tight considering someone staying one or two nights gets the same. We found the bed and pillows old and uncomfortable but that is obviously based on individual preference. Bin in kitchen was broken. Asking paying customers to put bins out for collection is just wrong. As long as the bins are used correctly and left tidy then taking rubbish bins to the roadside should be the cleaners/owners responsibility.

The location was ideal about a 20 minute walk from the train station and 10/15 minute walk to town centre! Our purpose for the trip was to go to the Liverpool fc parade so we didn’t get to spend as much time there but the location is ideal for people who would like to visit Chester

The cottage is in a great location. Check in instructions good. Comfortable stay for a couple.

In our opinion it was a nice cottage but too dark for us downstairs. Chilly even in nice weather. Patio area at back not swept and messy. Hated the shower over the bath. Good pressure but bathroom in our opinion needed refurb. Old grouting etc. Could do with some blackout blinds in top front bedroom if early light wakes you up. Overall generally clean but blinds upstairs needed a good dust.

Main bed was very comfortable, slept really well. Hair dryer was great. Really close to the centre, lovely walk along the river. Whole house was spotless.

We managed OK but very old steep winding stairs. Hade to take bikes through the house as no code for back gate.

Great location, lovely and quiet but only a 5 minute walk to centre of Chester. House warm and comfortable and great to have a parking space, so you don't need to worry about parking. Great comfortable beds, and nice hot shower. Recommend La Fattoria Italian restaurant Chester fantastic home cooked food and also The pied Bull, old traditional pub with great food, especially the Burgers!!

Nothing not to like, great home for our few days away in chester, would stay again if visiting Chester!

Lovely clean and well presented property in an excellent location with a short 5 min walk into town centre

Stairs were a little tricky for us older folks, especially with a large suitcase

Lovely little cottage in a great location. Had everything we needed and more. The owners were very helpful before we arrived making sure we had a travel cot for our little girl. Lovely walk to the centre and bus routes. Nice little local pubs near too. Definitely recommend to little families like ours.

Nothing to complain about.

A very nice traditional cottage in a beautiful part of Chester. Parking next door, very comfortable beds, heating works really well.

Nothing to dislike.

Very welcoming feel to the cottage. We had a 12 week old baby with us and it had everything we needed.
