La Palma Lodge Near Texas Tech and Top Restaurants

Everything was really close. It really felt like a home away from home.

This is a convenient location for a football game. We drove to the bus pick-up lot.

Kitchen is spartan.

The beds are so comfortable!!! Also, even though we did not use it, I like the idea of having covered parking in case it's needed during a storm!

The biggest thing is the front door. For someone elderly the front door is a little on the heavy side. The couch is not really comfy to sink down into and watch TV. Also, the rooms need tvs so one can unwind and watch TV till they fall asleep. One other suggestion would be to have horseshoes or corn hole or ping tables just something fun for the family to do. A big thing that hotels have that air BnBs don't that is a great asset is a brochure with things to do in Lubbock, great restaurants to visit etc.

Clean accommodations with nice decor.

It was far out for moving kids to campus. The dark curtains help to keep cool and block light at night but make for a dark box during the day. The AC was really loud and on all the time in this heat (but thankfully worked well). You have to go through the garage to get to the back patio which is an odd setup.

It had 3 bedrooms & 2 baths & garage was nice considering extreme heat outside

Poor AC - unable to override pre-set 76°  controls. Huge gaps above doors letting A/C out & heat in. SO many e-mails of reiterated rules...couldn't eat or drink in any room but dining room. No coffee or side tables & couch was very uncomfortable. No TVs in bedrooms. Beds unreasonably high making bedside tables @ lamps very low. No ice maker or ice trays. No washer dryer for only 2 night stay. Wrong entry code given initially & house hot upon entry.

The cozy atmosphere coupled with the lived-in feel gave it a home away from home experience. The exterior world (neighborhood) was quiet and kept to itself unless you involved yourself.

The interior does feel lived in, and it shows as well. The cabinets are worn (paint flaking, cracks), and a piece of the front door frame is removed, thus allowing the outside in (on fay of leaving noticed ants / ate only in the kitchen), and the walls in the rooms need to be cleaned (noticed what appear to be markings from crayons). An update (or minor tweaks) would be advisable.

We stayed for a week - the house was very comfortable and clean, the beds were comfortable- the only thing lacking were decent pots and pans the non stick ones they had were very rusted and scratched- also the tv died on day 2 we had no cable only the free channels you get from the antenna which my Father-in-law retrofitted. The contact # was in valid so we go no response for two days and then frustrated I texted them through the website and got an immediate response. They sent the tv person but he couldn’t do anything either. The laundry facilities were locked and that too we didn’t have access to until I messaged them . Once they fixed the pots and pans issue and gave us the # to the new housekeeper who then brought the new pots and pans over but it was too late were we’re leaving early morning the next day. Honestly I feel we need to get some kind of partial refund as we had nothing to do with all the miscommunication with the wrong phone number etc we only did whet they said to do - call the # that they provided which was wrong so

The location was easy to get to and was not far from where anything in Lubbock. The property was clean and property owner was easily reachable for any needs.

The grass was tall in both the front and back yards.
