The location has pluses and minuses. Kitchen was well equipped.

Location It's located 4 doors away from a restaurant with street seating... drunks are very noisey and there is little sound proofing The apartment we stayed in was at street level so every time a group walked by it felt you had let people in. We reported a small toilet leak at our arrival.. it was never fixed during our stay of 10 days. A plumber did come to inspect it and said the toilet was broken. I've installed new ones.. it was probably lacking a wax ring seal and there was no siliconing around the base. It must have been leaking a while as there was a rusted trash basket next to the toilet. (see pictures) The shower is awkward to get into. No soundproofing at main entrance facing street corner, where there is a lot of foot traffic. The apartment above has woodflooring. Late night music (till 1 am) combined with am (6am) delivery traffic, street cleaning make this a hard location to get proper sleep. Nearest paid parking is over a block away and free parking is over 2 blocks away. After paying we received a message about more exoenses that can be incurred for cleaning (ie 30 to 40 € for ckeaning should we want it done during our stay etc. First property in 30 plus years of reviewing properties cleaning was not free at least once a week.:( For these reasons we can't recommend this property. :(

The apartment was correctly advertised as in the heart of Old Town.

However, what was missing was information about how the apartment is surrounded at night by street restaurants. When we arrived the streets were quiet but by 5 p.m the noise of tables and chairs being put out started and from 7 p.m onwards diners began to arrive and the noise of their conversation started. The apartment was advertised as sound proof although Algartur changed this to double glazed when we complained. Sound proof it most certainly was not. We could not hear the TV properly over the noise and when the street musicians arrived to do their piece it was impossible and unbearable. There is no outside area to the apartment and as the windows and door open directly onto the street they could not be opened because the the number of people directly outside. So not only were we shut in but we had no means of fresh air either particularly with smokers and diners immediately outside.
