York Cottage

Very Modern,well equipped cottage in a peaceful location. Had good showers with nice hot water a must with 2 young boys. A very light and spacious cottage we really enjoyed are stay.

Not really the cottage fault but major building works were being carried out on the estate so access often delayed getting on and off site between 8 and 5.

Excellent quiet accommodation and great location. Just set back in wooded area off main Sandsend road and exactly 5 min. Drive into Whitby. Hudge 75"tv in living room and TVs in each bedroom. Nice personal touch, like complementary bottle of wine and white bedding and towels that smelt fresh and clean. The three double beds really comfortable afterI removed the many cushions and pillows. Excellent facility's in kitchen, mucrove, oven dishwasher and washing machine (all intrrgrated) and an iron and ironing board. They also have coffee machine and provided a few pos of coffee and tea and uht milk get you started and A few dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid and tea towel are also provided. In the closetOur age range 59 , 72, 80 and 82 years old and all were VERY IMPRESSED WITH THE PLACE as it is so quiet here. Although we had no use for the children's high chair and crib, there I one tucked away in the closet. The bedrooms in York Cottage are on the ground level and kitchen/living area upstairs, living room very spacious with high ceilings and double glass doors you can open, there is no balcony on double doors but has safety rail. Weather was fairly warm but when opening doors & windows the rooms stayed cool. Also has thermostats in every room to control individual rooms underfloor heating.

We didn't use tv much but no terrestrial tv (tv ariel), didn't question this with rental company but when talking to someone working there they sad tv and mobile phone reception bad. In our party of 4, all on different phone networks, only O2 phone had no signal, obviously nothing to do with owners of cottage. However it has super fast wifi in all rooms so streaming BBC,ITV ect to the 4 large SMART TV's, all 4 having Apple TV boxes, was no problem and super fast. The older members of party struggled to is TV's but not problem for me and we only watched thes news.

Cleanliness, quality fittings and furniture, quiet, peaceful, comfy beds, lovely bed linen

Would benefit from hooks on the back of bedroom doors, a microwave would be helpful and so would scissors. We were told there was a walk-in shower but that's incorrect

good location. Stayed next door last year.Near the beach.Easy to walk to Whitby and cafes.

Very well appointed, clean, and comfortable accommodation, in a quiet , peaceful location. The cottage was very well furnished and equipped to a high standard.

Older members of our our party were unable to use the over bath showers - the baths were very high sided and deep, and there were no ant slip bath mats provided. A real safety concern TV in the lounge was difficult to use and search for channels

Very easy, there was a lock box outside the house and the code was provided ahead of arrival
