Casa Elena

Un piccolo gioiellino su due livelli, arredato in perfetto stile con l’atmosfera unica di Matera. Luigi, il proprietario, è stato gentilissimo: ci ha fatto parcheggiare fuori dai Sassi e ci ha accompagnato personalmente alla casa. Pur non essendo prevista la colazione (trattandosi di una casa vacanza), abbiamo trovato tutto il necessario: acqua, succhi, latte, caffè in cialde, biscotti, fette biscottate, marmellate, Nutella e zucchero. Letto e cuscini comodissimi, ambienti puliti e curati, esattamente come nelle foto. Matera è una vera bomboniera e questa struttura è stata la cornice perfetta per il nostro breve soggiorno.

the host kindly picked us up from the free parking area and drove us to the accommodation. When we checked out, they also gave us a ride back, so we didn’t have to walk and were able to travel comfortably and safely. The home was very clean, and the location was excellent. 10/10

You should pay cash when you check in. I did not aware of that as I booked this house a month ago, I thought I paid with my credit card. But I hoped he reminded me of that the day before again about the payment cash only option. But the host is really great man!!!

The owner is very nice and came to pick us up at the free parking and drop off there! The apartment has everything you need and location is the best

check out at 10:00 and no place to leave your luggages. owner drove us back to the parking lot and we stored our luggeges inside the car and took his vechicle back to center but we have go back to our parking lot again by our own.

Excellent location right in the heart of the city. Luigi was great and picked us up from our car and dropped us back. The apartment was clean and bed was very comfortable

I highly recommend anyone who wants to visit Matera to stay at Casa Elena, in the heart of the stone city. Luigi, the owner, meets his guests where they arrive and takes them with his car to the accommodation, which is located in the pedestrian zone, prohibited to unauthorized vehicles. And at the end of the stay, he also provides the same /free of charge/ transportation to the departure point from where you leave. This service is invaluable, you don't have to wander with suitcases on the steep streets, look for the address, walk to the new town, where there are parking lots, the train station, and stops to catch a bus to the airport or another point of your vacation. The house is incredibly clean, neat and comfortable, for exploring the Sasi and old Matera, on foot. I recommend it to anyone who wants to be calm and in good hands! Mille grazie Luigi!!!

Everything was more than perfect!

Luigi went out of his way to make sure we had everything we needed. He was extremely helpful in directing us to where we were delivering some artwork. He wanted to help in any way. He responded quickly via WhatsApp when we had any questions. He picked us up and returned us to our car park right on time. Despite the language difference, he did an excellent job! The flat was very clean and comfortable.

Having recently had knee surgery, I would have preferred knowing ahead of time that the bed was upstairs, but if you are coming to Matera, you must deal with stairs anyway. It would have been nice if the bathroom was on the same level. It was a bit noisy at times during the night because spaces seemed occupied above and beside us. But overall a very good stay.
