Cloncaird Castle Estate Cottages

L'équipement est basique et certains éléments seraient à renouveler même s'ils donnent un certain charme au cottage ils manquent de confort.

Very clean, had everything we needed. The location was stunning. The bed was so comfy.

Fantastic cottage in beautiful grounds. Communication leading up to our stay was first class, and soon after we arrived the Estate Manager arrived to introduce himself and explain a little about the castle and where to go. All in all a brilliant experience.

We booked this for a local wedding for 2 nights, and was perfect. Lots of downstairs space, good kitchen facilities and peaceful. Would recommend to anyone visiting the area. Comfy bed, good shower and handy to have kitchen available too.

Bedroom space is small with no wardrobe/chest of drawers etc but as staying two nights didn’t bother us too much but might be an issue if staying longer. Spiral staircase a bit hard to navigate in the middle of the night as bathroom is downstairs. The house is dog friendly but with no garden, all shared facilities this could be an issue

Tack Room Cottage is part of a small group of cottages created from the old stables and coach house of Cloncaird Castle - the outside looks like a mini castle! The cottage was wonderfully spacious and the beds, plus the bedding, are amazing, somehow firm but feather soft at the same time. There was plenty of hot water and the towels were very thick and fluffy. The walks around the grounds were wonderful in an evening after dinner. The estate manager was able to swiftly supply both a cafetiere and towel rack when we requested these. The WiFi was great and managed to cope with all of us being connected and streaming music/videos. The table and chairs outside was perfect for the hot weather Scotland managed to surprise us with! It was really useful having the shared washing machine and tumble drier close by, and there was a really good selection of DVDs, books and games to borrow in the utility room. Having a small bottle of milk in the fridge on our arrival was very thoughtful, particularly since we had forgotten to pick milk up, and the plentiful supply of instant coffee, tea bags and long life milk portions was a great touch.

The blinds and windows were a bit fiddly to operate, necessitating us climbing on furniture/window sills, and it was a bit cobwebby behind the blinds and curtains. The kitchen only had 4 of everything, requiring constant washing up of items, but there was washing up liquid and plenty of dishwasher tablets for the dishwasher. The kitchen could have been a little better equipped eg pizza/ baking trays would have been handy, and we had to rearrange the dresser to give us some food storage. But overall it was perfectly adequate and I even managed to bake a cake.
