Casa Reis

We enjoyed our stay - this is a separate house, but the owner lives next door and is always available. The place has all kinds of amenities, we especially appreciated laundry machine and dryer - it was very useful after messy hikes around. Owner was very nice, gave us local fruits and cake - was very tasty. House is not modern but looks right as on the pictures - considering the price it seemed as a good deal.

If you are a light sleeper you might be woken up by rooster’s crow early morning. It was also a bit cold in the house but there were electric heaters.

The host and his family (who live in the house next door) were really friendly and helpful, they gave us delicious fresh fruit and food, which we really enjoyed! The equipment was also good, we had everything we needed. It was like an hour drive from Funchal, but since we wanted to hike a lot the location was good for us. All in all I would recommend👍

The chickens next door could be kinda loud at times, but it didn't really bother us too much.

The location we stayed at had a gorgous view, I smiled every morning. Also there's very climatic local bar nearby and basketball playing field with even more fantastic view. I highly reccomend going there and seeing it with your own eyes!

A bit old fashioned but super clean villa. there is everything. Fully equipped kitchen, washing machine, dryer, living room. Very nice hosts. We got local wine, sweets and fruit. I highly recommend it

You must have a car. It's best to leave it on the main street. It's safe there, and you don't have to drive up a steep street. One more thing. The villa felt a little damp, we had the windows open all the time, it helped. I don't think it will smell in summer. We were guests here at the end of February.

Very nice host, even though we arrived almost at midnight he was waiting for us with the home made liqueur and madeira cake:) and after he was treated us with delicious local fruit. The house is very comfortable, kitchen well equipped. There are radiators in both of the bedrooms which is reaaly important this part of the year.

Everything was perfect, very good location, quiet place, big spaces and everything you need to be comfortable. The kitchen super well equipped and the host gave us some delicious local fruit :)

The double bed could have been more comfortable.

The host family was lovely! I had the whole place to myself with all amenities (kitchen, washing machine and dryer, etc.). The house was very clean and comfortable. The location of the house is slightly remote (away from VE1), but that make it possible to reach both the West and East of the island easily while avoiding Funchal and its traffic jams.

At first, I was a bit stressed about parking my rental car in the narrow street, but I had no issue.

Hosts were very welcoming and helpful. The location is beautiful, if a bit of track.

The furnishings aren't the newest, but everything was very clean nonetheless.
