La Finestra sul Mare dello Zingaro

I had a very good stay at Vincenzo's appartement in Scopello. The place is fantastic. Vincenzo is very kind and helpfull. His traditionnal and excellent bakery is part of Scopello's heritage. Grazie mille Vincenzo !

Great value for money! Good location, a short walk down to the village for restaurants bars and some small shops and it is a cute village. 2km from the Zingaro reserve so we just walked there and back along the road About 1.5km downhill to the nearest beaches, albeit these are not easy to find even with Vincenzo's map and help (except the Tonnara di Scopello of course). Worth going up to the tower on the hill behind as well. Vincenzo was very helpful and offered us transfers which we decided to take. It is doable this way without hiring a car though a car would definitely have made things a little easier and we would have been able to explore further afield but we were happy we the choice we made to take the transfer although this meant a lot of walking to do things. The driver stopped at a supermarket on the way but it was smaller than the one in Scopello so not much choice! But the one in Scopello would be a long walk with all your shopping as it's 1.7km away!!! There is a little shop in the village though and the bakery is excellent.

Perhaps it's a beginning of season thing (the room might not have recently been used) but we had to ask for several things that were missing: kettle, wine glasses, there was only a tiny amount of washing up liquid. No tea towels either but we just used the tablecloth. Outside area doesn't get much sun as it is north east facing but that might be a bonus when it is hot! Not so for us as the weather wasn't great. Bed was too hard for us.
