The Hideaway

The location was great. Very peaceful. Good shower. Fabulous for our dogs, secure courtyard for them. Extra touches such as dog treats were thoughtful. Very good wifi connection. Everything you needed was provided in a small space. Good log burner. Although tucked away, very accessible and close to amenities.

The bed was too small (and we are not large or tall) and felt like a 4' double, rather than average size. Unfortunately didnt sleep well but that was the only downside.

We have just stayed at The Hideaway for 2 nights and we loved it. It was cosy, comfortable and charming. We had chicken on the windowsill in the morning which was super cute. Facilities were great and there was plenty to do in the area.

Compact. Warm. Good shower. Comfy bed even though it did feel like climbing onto a marshmallow!

Photos showing some of the interior different to what was there. The kitchen table and chairs shown in the photos was not there. It is just an old tiptop table and two scruffy old Lloyd loom chairs with old sheepskin on each. One of the reasons I booked was because of a good sized table to work at.. No chest of draws in the bedroom to put clothes in. There was a cupboard but didn't want to put clothes in there - storage cupboard. Entrance into the small courtyard area. It was like walking into Jurassic Park.. I know its the end of February but sweeping it clear of dead leaves and taming some of the huge plants would have made it more welcoming. What I paid for what was shown in the photos and it wasn't there.

The cottage was compact, cosy, tastefully furnished and decorated and had everything that you’d need!

Only thing I could think of is it gets cold without the heating. But it’s an old, granite cottage so that’s to be expected (and the log burner works a treat)

Amazing cottage, the perfect hideaway. Clean and comfortable, so lovely staying for an extra night. Highly recommend.

Lovely little spot tucked behind manor house, gorgeous log burner, which you need in Winter.. Thoughtful treats for dog & dog proof courtyard. Close to Slice of Cornwall, where we had fabulous brunch this morning.

Flipping cold bathroom floor!! Not a deal breaker tho.
