I was afraid the cottages would be old, but they are very well updated and modern and warm. Yes smallish, but very cosy in my opinion. The greatest thing is the hottub with view on the tourist whaling boats, so you know where to look to see the whales. I liked the lower temperature as it enables you to soak for hours. So modern, comfortable, great views of the water and mountains.

Nothimg, for me jist oerfect, including a good working weber grill!

Super Lage am Fjord, mit der Möglichkeit, Wale zu sehen - aus dem Fenster, von der Terrasse oder aus dem Hot Tub. Bequem uns ausreichend groß in Schlafzimmer, Wohnzimmer, Kochecke und Bad. Sehr sauber alles.

Keine Schränke für Kleidung - nur zwei Haken im Schlafzimmer und drei neben der Haustür - man lebt quasi aus dem Koffer. Relativ geringe Ausstattung in der Küche - man muss oft spülen.

Das Haus ist in einer Gruppe von 5 Ferienhäusern. Die Lage am Fjord mit schöner Aussicht ist ausgezeichnet. Die Nachbarhäuser sind nicht störend. Das Pot-Bad haben wir täglich benutzt.

Das Haus scheint etwas älteren Datums zu sein. Das Schlafzimmer ist sehr eng. Das Bad ebenso. Das Waschbecken im Bad ist ultraklein. Das Wohnzimmer ist eher ungemütlich. Das Sofa kann man als Gepäckablage benutzen.

Die Unterkunft liegt sehr schön an der Bucht in der wir auch eine Walbeobachtungstour gemacht haben. Man könnte von der Terrasse vielleicht sogar einen Wal sehen.

Neben den Cottages befand sich eine Baustelle, von der Tag und Nacht Baulärm zu hören war, wahrscheinlich eine Geothermiebohrung. Davon war nichts zu lesen, der Vermieter hat auch nicht auf dieses Problem geantwortet. Für den der im Urlaub Ruhe sucht ist dies nichts!

Although remote (see 'What didn't you like'), the location is great for whale spotting from the porch and within the house.

1) The hot tub is a disgrace to the Icelandic bathing culture. The drain makes so much noise that it is absolutely unpleasant to be in or around it when it is filled. 3) The owners don't react to messages during the weekend. We arrived on Saturday, did not receive any reaction until Monday afternoon when someone was at the door unannounced. No reaction whatsoever via Whatsapp or Booking.com to our messages. 3) A geothermal power plant is being built basically on the cottage's doorstep. Noise is not a hinder indoors but the construction site (and future power plant) is now the center piece of the view from the porch and obviously there isn't much left of the natural quiet when outdoors. 4) Location is isolated. Not necessarily a negative point but good to keep in mind. Although the cottage is right next to the water, there is no access to the water. There are also no walking paths or other 'entertainment' options at or next to the property. You need to take the car.
