部屋が寒い、風の音でガタガタ部屋が唸る、隙間風だらけで納屋かと思った

The property is a cute little house with a view of the river, an old Japanese house. It is on a narrow quiet street, quite dark at night. It is basic but perfectly comfortable. Beds upstairs, bathroom & loo downstairs. The balcony overlooking the river is very nice, a peaceful place to sit and look at the birds. Please note it is further out of the centre than we anticipated. Kanazawa is larger than we thought - our bad for not knowing that, however we booked because the listing gave the quote "15 minutes to walk to Kanazawa station" - this is definitely not the case and I am a speedy walker!! There is a loop bus which you can buy a pass for at the station however be warned, it is PACKED from morning till night. It is not a good idea to try to get on the bus with big suitcases. I would take a taxi for your first trip to drop off your luggage.

The key pick up isnt straightforward -you need to have time to spare for finding the office. The building where you go to isn't numbered nor does it have a sign (also it doesn't match the google maps image, so very confusing). I would skip this place if you are only staying one night in Kanazawa like we were, the separate location check-in took up a chunk of our sight seeing time. Location not such a problem if you have a car or plan to stay for a few days and have time to explore on foot. Be careful of the steep staircase!

It’s an old japanese house. Upstairs there is a big bedroom, down stairs you have a kitchen, dinning and hang out area, toilet and bathroom. It has everything you need (except oil, salt, pepper etc.). The place has a very nice view of the river and is located in a calm residential area, about 10-15 minutes away from the major attractions.

It can get quite cold since you heat the rooms only by air conditioner. Especially the bathroom is cold before turning on warm water.

Meget stilfuldt og hjemmeligt. Placeringen var rigtig fint med en lille vandretur indtil geishakvarteret. Vi elskede lejligheden, som var vores favorit på Japan turen. Den grønne farve på væggene og traditionelt indrettet med tatami måtter gjorde os så afslappede. Der er to etager og en terrasse med udsigt til floden. Perfekt base til at udforske Kanazawa.
