Historic converted byre in courtyard of 16C house

We loved the property. It was beautifully furnished and it had everything we needed and more. The garden was fabulous and the whole experience was just what we needed. Warm and welcoming.

For a couple, there was lots of space, very clean and some nice personal touches by the owners.

The glowing reviews are justified. A really lovely place and very nice owners. I'd give it 9.5 if I could.

Lovely warm welcome by Jen and Richard. They have lived in the area for many years and were happy to give us lots of information about where to go on our days out and where to go for dinner too.They had left us cake, scones, even jam and cream! The cottage had a lovely view, and being able to sit out in the cobbled court yard in the morning over looking the hills was fantastic. The kitchen had everything you could think of and more. The bed was very comfortable and having stayed when the weather was very hot. It was nice and cool. Jen and Richard were happy for us to walk around the beautiful garden, which is a must if you stay there.

The property is beautiful and surrounded by wonderful scenery. Communication with the owners was great. Everything in the house is very high quality and very well maintained. The surrounding gardens are wonderful. There are lots of lovely touches like homemade cream scones and shortbread, lovely thick dressing gowns and towels. And a great coffee machine. The owners were really lovely and our son loved their dog and the garden swing. We hope to go back.

Everything was perfect

This is one of the best houses we’ve ever stayed at. Our daughter loved it. It’s beautiful, it’s clean, hosts are great, kitchen is amazing, views are breathtaking. With all the little details around the house, you can feel how much love hosts have put into this place.

My husband wasn’t fan of the smell coming from the farm nearby, but it’s really not that bad and just at some particular hours I think. Most of the time you only smell the green garden.

The accommodation is unique and in an idyllic setting. We were walking some of the Northern Fells and found it a perfect location. Richard and Jen were on hand to make sure we had everything we needed.
