Stone Chimney Cottage

The location was great as close to cliff path walk, so we spotted tons of whales. Also enjoyed the braai facility area.

We had absolutely no hot water throughout the house for the duration of our stay, and it was blamed on loadshedding. Even though the agent said the geyser was cold to the touch on non loadshedding hours.

The place was a cute little gem not far from all the things you might want to do in Hermanus. It is a great family stay with a TV room and kids room upstairs and plenty space for the kids to play outside whilst you are having a braai.

I think it would have been great to have some cooking oil in the house, just a simple thing that normal people forget to pack.

Everything was perfect

The comfortable soft blankets and the little fireplace that came in so handy when we were there on a very cold rainy day. It was More spacious than what I imagined

A cottage in old-fashioned style. So be ready that facilities and furniture are not new, but they have its own style. Kitchen is full of cooking staff and tableware. Neighborhood is quite safe and looks nice, there is no fence around the house, but there is an alarm system.

During winter season it was a little bit cold, but there is a fireplace, a gas heater and a small electric heater. There were electric sheets in the beds. So we were quite comfortable, but take warm pajamas with you. I think this advice is common for all apartments at this period of the year. When we arrived there were no firewood, but we asked and we were provided with it next day. I would suggest to give firewood in the beginning, because you don’t know where to take it when you arrive and there is a load shedding. At the time of load shedding, there was no generator, so no electricity, but wi-fi worked and there were several lamps with batteries, so it was tolerable.
