New Station Cottage, country views, great location

Spacious, beautifully kept, very clean, great facilities and beautiful view

The location in the village of Sledmere is excellent, with easy links to the main towns of the Yorkshire Wolds. It is also a great base for exploring the Wolds by bicycle. New Station Cottage is very clean and well presented, with all the facilities that one needs.

The only comment I'd make is that the road outside the cottage is busier than we'd expected, so it's best to sleep in the back bedroom, which additionally has a stunning view across the fields and an expansive skyscape.

The cottage was lovely. It was very clean, had everything you need in it. Plenty of room and very cosy! A spacious outside area where you could sit and enjoy the view! The views are amazing looking over the fields! The location is lovely, a really pretty quiet village with a pub and a farm shop, about a 10 minute drive to the next village where there are shops and takeaways ect. Dog bowls and treats were provided which is a nice touch! There was even some milk left in the fridge and eggs, tea bags and biscuits on the side which we enjoyed! Thankyou for the lovely stay!

A peaceful location with a lovely view.

Our host Sally kindly allowed us to check in early as we arrived ahead of schedule, and also let us have a late check-out, which we really appreciated. The cottage offered a unique blend of countryside charm and contemporary interior design. Watching sheep grazing as the sun set was an exceptional experience. It truly felt like a home away from home. Thank you so much, Sally, for your hospitality!

Nothing, it was all positive

The cottage is lovely, clean and has everything you could need. The location is superb and although in a quiet village it is not very far from towns and the coast - a perfect base to explore the surrounding area from. Sally, the host, was very helpful regarding checking in instructions and allowed us a later check out. We came for a few days relaxation after getting married and Sally left a bottle of prosecco for us! We totally recommend New Station Cottage..

The place is nice, love having the sheep at the back. Water pressure is excellent. Crockery was very dirty, everything has a layer of oil and lots of dried bits at the bottom eg mugs, bowls, plates, cutleries... Dish washer needs deep clean, and the tablet tray doesn’t close and open properly, probably that’s why. There was only 1.5 loo rolls for 5 of us for 2 nights was a bit of a shock. Owner responded quickly and provided more the next morning, happy with that. Also we expected a few logs for the burner as mentioned when booked however none was left neither did any lighter. I felt it a nuisance keep on receiving messages about we have to pay £10 for more logs being used. Should check condition before check-in.
