Riverside Cottage in Cairngorms

Central location. Plus the hot tub.

Could not control heating easily. Could do with a deep clean.

Location was perfect, an easy walk into the village and for touring

Parking was a little further than we could like, especially in rainy weather A thermostat in the hot tub would be nice

Great location and had everything we needed

Amazing cottage in a great location with shops, restaurant's and bars within a 3 min walk. The house had plenty of space and was very cozy.

Arrived at 4pm and the house wasn't ready as the cleaner was still cleaning but she was very apologetic. The hot tub had no temperature gauge. key locker was not the easiest to use and kept on jamming up. Bike locker padlocks very rusty and had to use cooking oil to free them off. Shower keeps on dripping 24hrs even after double checking that it was off.

Great location with everything that you need.

No parking which isn’t really an issue

Overall the property was excellent, great location and well equipped.

The instructions for the lockbox were not clear and we had to eventually call the owner for assistance but sorted very quickly.

from the outside a typical old Scottish stone house but inside completely modern equipped with underfloor heating, modern bathrooms and a great kitchen. In the garden a Hottube. This was absolutely great because the weather was nasty in our Ballater Week.

We liked everything! Apart from the weather there was nothing to complain about but the accommodation can’t do anything about that. Ballater is a nice place to be.

the key box was a little tricky to use. the location of the property was excellent and the patio was a real sun trap after 1pm right through to sun down. the size of the rooms were good. Overall the property was well maintained but there were a few issues with the maintenance and cleanliness i will highlight below.

the showers grouting was needing cleaned / replaced. there was parts of the kitchen that could have been cleaner - the mug stand was dirty and some of the cupboard doors did have marks on them. the downstairs toilet wall paper was torn under the sink and the skirtings required cleaned and painted. the outside wall on the patio was badly stained from the heating flume and was a real eye sore. the twin bedded room bed linen was very tired looking and the valance sheets looked very untidy. the windows when opened had cobwebs and very dusty , some had black mould too. the oven cooker hood had been replaced but the old markings from the previous hood were still visible. a table cloth for the dinning room would have enhanced the room along with lamps , the centre light was very bright , and the plants sitting on the window sill of the dinning room were not nice. the nicest room in the cottage was the small snug tv room where the lighting was very warming. the kitchen was very dark and would have benafitted greatly from under cupboards lighting.
