Beautiful Bungalow CBD

Very quaint separate building at back of house and very close to town

From the on line info, I thought we were getting the cottage rather than the bunker. So maybe just a bit clearer on info.

We stayed here for two nights and the situation of the property was great for exploring the town and the pick up location for a wine tour. The room was tastefully decorated, had fresh roses in a vase as a welcome and the bed was comfortable. There was parking at the property.

The advertising for this property was extremely misleading on booking.com, and has been, retrospectively reading all the reviews and not just the positive ones for the main house, since at least 2024. Most of the photos of the property are for the main bungalow, not for ‘The Bunker’ which is where we were directed to the day before we arrived. This turned out to be at the back of the property, behind the bins and was an old shed/workshop, which smelt damp. There was no advertised access to the pool or to a washing machine. This was not the property we had understood we were booking. Having said that, the bunker had been tastefully decorated and the bed was comfortable. We did not do any cooking as the facilities for doing so were extremely limited and cramped. Fortunately there are good restaurants in town. The hosts did offer to put our washing in the main house washing machine but we felt uncomfortable accepting our offer so spent one unexpected afternoon at the launderette! So-be careful when booking here that you know what to expect-and booking.com, please be more careful with the accuracy of both your photographs and the accompanying text.

Very cute with lots of antique pieces. It also had a swimming pool and Netflix.

It had a bbq but no other cooking facilities apart from an electric fry pan.

The bunker was private and bijou. Jo and Muzz were beyond hospitable and very accommodating.

Washing up and cooking was a challenge but achievable. Next door’s dog woke us at 7.30am

room size, location, decor all very good.

It was pricey for what it is.

Warm and friendly interactions via phone with the hosts. A cozy beautifully appointed bungalow with obvious love and energy gone into its conception. Very close to the heart of town.
