Silhouette Cottage

Really good location with some lovely walks from the cottage (no driving needed). The local pub/diner was excellent - nice atmosphere, great food, good service, friendly. The cottage had character and was well equipped and well presented.

Staircase is steep, but manageable by taking extra care. This would not put us off rebooking Silhouette Cottage. Sitting room was dark, but little used as the conservatory is lovely.

What a lovely cottage. It has so much character but is also a good size. I loved sitting in the garden in the morning with my coffee and sketch pad. The rooms are a good size and the beds are comfy. The kitchen has everything you need. It was great to have the option of sitting in the conservatory or the lounge. The surrounding walks in the area are delightful and the White Horse Inn, the pub down the road, has good food and the staff are very friendly, closed on Monday and Tuesday though. We would definitely come and stay at Silhouette Cottage again.

The location is great, we have before and had no problems.

The place was dirty and smelt of damp to the point my wife had to use her inhaler three or four times. Spiders in the kitchen and entrance hall. We had to put the heating on and open the windows for a couple of hours

Well equipped, quirky, beautiful location, next to pub. Excellent walking country. Dogs welcome.

No village shop in walking distance - nearest a couple of miles away so you need to bring milk and bread etc for the first night

Spacious rooms. Listening to the birds singing in the garden and an Owl hooting at night was just lovely. Weather wasn't great at first but there were plenty of board games and DVDs to keep us entertained during the bad weather.

I have marked down slightly for facilities because of the stairs. They are very narrow and steep to climb.

Could do with a set of gates to secure the garden as you are on main road.

Clean, comfortable, kitchen was very well equipped so we ate there every night as had our young dog with us. Pub next door very friendly and food looked amazing. We would definitely return

Drive is a bit narrow but we got the hang of it. Stairs are narrow and a bit steep. Fine for us but could be a problem for people with mobility issues.
