Kirkstone Cottage ideal for a romantic break centrally located in Ambleside with wood burning stove

Great location within Ambleside right at the base of the road upto the Struggle. Lots of books to read. The property was very nicely decorated, and good wifi with a smart tv.

Whilst there is a carpark space, and it wasn't a problem for our car, it would be tight if you had a larger vehicle. There was a little bit of road noise if you are a light sleeper, so pack ear plugs.

We were not given a box code to get the keys, but rang on arrival, and got the code directly form the property manager instantly on return of leaving a message

Heating difficult to regulate- a leaflet would help.

Dry central.

It was too noisy from the traffic for us.

The location was great and I think the accommodation was bigger than I expected it to be. Incredibly clean and tidy on arrival.

The only downside was the very small parking space. Even in my small car I was concerned about blocking others in, however the main car park across the road has very good rates for long stays, and I recommend anyone to use that instead of they're concerned

Kirkstone Cottage was a well situated and very comfortable cottage to stay in for my week in the Lake District. This cottage was very well appointed, with all the amenities necessary for a short or long stay in the Lake District. Parking was on site. My dealings with the staff from Cumbrian Cottages through Bookings, via email and via telephone were excellent. I highly recommend this cottage as a place to stay if you are visiting the Lake District.

The operating instructions for some of the appliances were not as clear as they might have been.
