Traditional Medieval Stone house in "Ano Syros"

This place is an absolute gem, it’s location in the medieval settlement up on top of the hill, the little church just outside your door, the peace and feeling of really experiencing Syros is unique and not to be missed. If it’s available for your dates book it!

Nothing not to like, the house is old and small but me and my 2 kids were fine, shower is a wet room effectively but we just managed, putting the bath mat just outside the bathroom door

Like other reviewers have already said, this is a very special property, nothing like your typical holiday apartment. The owners have obviously put lots of love into it and it feels very homely. It's full of character and in an amazing location. Ano Syros is a lovely peaceful spot, and worth the climb up the many many steps to reach it. There are a couple of bars/cafes up there, and the views are beautiful. You will definitely remember your stay here. We got the keys from a safe box, we never met the owner but he was responsive to any questions via whatsapp.

The things that make the property charming and unique are also some of the downsides. Watch your head on the low ceilings and watch out for the steps. It's full of the owner's souvenirs, so there's not much space to unpack your own things. It's dark inside, and the little kitchen is outside in a separate room. I never figured out how to take a shower without flooding the bathroom. And it's not at all suitable for anyone with reduced mobility, sadly. But we did love our stay here.

A unique, beautiful place to stay. We loved it. This is a quaint, cosy, old cottage located in the winding, mazy lanes of the old town of Ano Syros. It is such an atmospheric place to stay. By around mid-evening and through early morning it is so peaceful and you will have only the local resident cats for company. The house is so comfortable and full of nice features, such as comfortable bed, coffee machine, plenty of seating (we were two people) and a nice amount of living space. We walked to and from the port town of Hermoupolis several times – down (or up) the many steps – it takes about 20 minutes without luggage.

Location was in the most beautiful spot in Syros and not too far from local cafes and restaurants. The hosts had fantastic communication and was fantastic with doing everything they could do to help us settle in.
