Limited storage for hanging clothes. Sharp metal sticking out of one kitchen table chair seat.

It was clear that the property had not been cleaned properly for an exceptionally long time. There were thick layers of dust & webs everywhere - on and under every single piece of furniture in the cottage. We even attempted to vacuum & swiffer ourselves, but the vacuum was so full that we couldn’t use it & the swiffer wasn’t in a much better state. Guests should not be expected to clean a rental property when they arrive on a holiday - especially at the high nightly rate that was charged. Plus, one of the guests has COPD & a heart condition, so the amount of dust was a big issue. There were slugs on the walls daily & so many spider webs & large spiders throughout the cottage. There was no welcome manual to help explain anything in the property, such as the TV, which was very difficult to use. The oven and stove were difficult to use, so instructions would have been very helpful but there wasn’t any. Kitchen appliances weren't clean, such as the coffee maker, teapot, blender, as well as some dishes. We had to wash most dishes & cutlery ourselves before using them. Poor wifi & frequently stopped working. The “patio” was terrible. Old table & chairs were basically broken & unusable. Table & ground covered with sharp seashells, like someone had just left them lying around on the table & dropped half which broke on ground, they could have easily been swept up before guests arrived. It should not have been included in the listing as a possible place to eat, or sit in. Garbage cans were right next to the chairs. Large oil container taking up most of the space. There were no instructions whatsoever as to how the garbage bins get emptied, such as a schedule for collection. We were told parking was included but when we arrived, a neighbour told us that we had to move our car as the parking space we were directed to was not owned by the rental property & that we would have to park on the street.

There was a lot of unnecessary items. Some odd items in drawers that seemed personal. More towels would have been helpful as well.

Really comfortable, spacious and well equipped ‘home from home’. Fabulous cotton sheets, fluffy pillows and comfy beds. Beautiful location in the centre of Findhorn within easy distance of all the facilities. Dedicated parking an absolute bonus. Clean and well maintained.

The location was good

The property was dirty. There was a lingering smell of cigarettes and damp. The property had not been cleaned properly. There was litter under the bed. The windows were not clean. The outside furniture was full of rot. The house was cluttered with old possessions and junk. Not worth the money charged.

Excellent stay in clean and extremely well equipped cottage. Good quality beds, mattresses, furnishings and kitchen equipment. Wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.
