"The chalet needs some maintenance but we made the most of things. Warm and cosy once the heating was sorted out (the boi"

Location was amazing and the chalet feels spacious

The Bathroom is mouldy. Floor is spongy and the flooring is coming up. A leak in the radiator resulted in black mould all around the toilet too. Smell of damp in the bathroom

"A very relaxing stay in a lovely place"

8.0

Had access directly onto the beach for wonderful peaceful walks on the foreshore. The owners had left a Christmas tree and decorations for us to decorate it with as we were there over Christmas - so thoughtful. They also gave us a couple of extra baking trays for xmas lunch. Thank you! The feel of the place was lovely, so relaxing, nice interior design, very restful and clean. The place had most things we needed although we did bring extra cooking dishes and pans for the big meal just in case

The road up to the place was extremely pot-holey. Made it a very slow and tricky trip up a long farm track in a car that wasn't really made for it. Would be great to fix the potholes!

"Comfortable and warm, nice quiet location."

7.0

Wood burning stove was the best part of the cabin although was nice and warm even without it. Pretty clean but not immaculate, bedroom carpets looked tired/stained, albeit no complaints about bedding/towels. Kitchen well equipped. Comfy sofa and chairs.

Outside light was temperamental. No blind on kitchen window was unnerving for us not being used to staying in a remote location like this. Request to strip beds was strange. Request to take rubbish to the bins at the end of the lane was definitely not acceptable - we compromised and placed the rubbish bags on the verandah, we weren't prepared to put bags of rubbish in our car. Check out time felt very early given check in is 4pm - surely cannot take 6 hours to clean the cabin to the standard we found it in.

"Peacefully remote, ticked all the boxes for someone who brings pets with them on holidays!"

9.0

A minutes walk from a stony beach, about 5 minutes walk along beach to the local pub. Incredible night skies when no clouds, very roomy cabin with everything you'd need for a holiday. Located in a remote area but remarkably peaceful and beautiful

Maybe we've been spoilt in recent years but most places we've stayed in have left a small welcome gift like a bottle of milk, a few scones or something... it's a small thing but makes a big difference in feeling welcomed. This wouldn't stop us from booking again but a small gesture is always appreciated

"This is an idyllic holiday set up."

10.0

Delightful spacious wooden chalets well spaced apart in a large open space. Just minutes from the beach through a secure gate. The location is ideal for families, dogs and everyone. There is plenty to do and see in the area and the pub just 5 minutes away serving a very good menu.

There were no downsides to our holiday.

"Perfect lodge for a quiet getaway."

10.0

The sea is a 30sec walk with a lovely pub just up the beach about 10mins walk when the tide is out, took our German shepherd dog with us and she really enjoyed herself, it was very dog friendly even the pub was. The lodge had Everything we needed with great views.

Considering we have a long hair gsd she brought half the beach back with her, apart from that there was nothing to dislike everything was perfect.

"Lovely position but small things spoil the occasion - I feel the lodges are in need of a re-fresh."

6.0

The lodge is very well positioned for a Solway holiday. I love the Carsethorn area so the position of the three lodgers is ideal for a quiet solway holiday.

Silly little things really: Two of the lights in the kitchen did not work, there was no plug in the sink or plastic bowl to use as an alternative. There appears to be less cutlery then previously making use of the dishwasher less practical. The measuring jug in the kitchen had a hole in the bottom (this was placed in the bin as it made a right mess when used). There appears to be a small leak under the sink and the kitchen area smells of stagnant water. The grass outside the lodges always seems to be too long which takes away the beauty of the site.
