Riverside Cottage

Great location, very good communication with hosts

We thought it would have been nice to have a chair or two in the main bedroom, partly for clothes, but also for sitting and admiring the view. Personally we like books, so any books about Wetherby, Yorkshire etc would have enhanced the cottage. But otherwise it was great. It was easy to find parking nearby - but the road is extremely busy and we didn't feel it was safe to load or unload on the street.

Sadly, we had to go home after one night due to lack of sleep from the noise from the A-road which was three feet from the second “double bedroom”. This room is actually 7 ft x 7 ft with 2 ft 6” single beds and the door opened outwards as there was no room to open inwards., no storage. The damp also set my friends asthma off. We told the hosts of the box room complaints but they didn’t reply until we said we were all vacating the property early, to which they replied that other people have found the property to be fine… The house is also very dated, worn and dirty.

Everything was perfect.

Beautiful cottage, very clean, very comfortable and excellent location for Wetherby and the surrounding area. A very short walk to the town.

Parking can be challenging but we managed on street parking very near the property in unmarked bays so didn’t need to move the car

No welcome pack. Small milk for arrival would have been appreciated.

This is a very comfortable cottage in the centre of town with an easy walk to everything. We especially loved the rooms that overlooked the river and the terrace. We could watch the birds, a squirrel in the trees and a majestic swan on the river. For parking we followed the owners instructions and used the cinema car park for the weekend and free street parking nearby for the rest of our time which we found in the late afternoon.

We had a very hot weekend so an ice tray for the freezer would be useful, but you can buy ice from the supermarket.

I liked the location, the peacefullness, the views, it's proximity to the town centre and the living and bed rooms. The coffee and tea pack, the welcome board.
