"Great location, nice and cosy, we enjoyed our night here."

8.0

At £86 for one night this was he second most expensive of the three BDC accommodations I booked this week. The name is a bit misleading – it; not that small; I have certainly stayed in a few smaller places. The location is great, in the middle of the city with big carparks right next to it and pubs and a large M&S food hall. It had a nice shower downstairs but the water flowed quicker than it drained – so you had to keep turning the water off so it didn’t overflow the shower basin. The apartment was well equipped and as well as the essentials also provided were a tin of biscuits, a small bottle of wine and fresh milk in the fridge – all much appreciated. Downstairs was quite cosy – with a soft sofa and a smart TV. Wifi was fine. There was a table big enough for 2 to eat at. The upstairs (almost mezzanine) bedroom was great – although anyone over 5 foot tall will have to duck at the far end. It was a great place to stay for the night.

The inside needed a little deeper clean and some of the lino and paintwork needed some attention. It had a nice shower downstairs but the water flowed quicker than it drained – so you had to keep turning the water off so it didn’t overflow the shower basin.

"Very Good"

7.0

Location was good and it was fairly quiet. It was a cute cottage and there were good facilities however I didn’t need to use these. The host had left fresh milk in the fridge, a small bottle of Prosecco and a tin of biscuits which was a lovely touch (even though I didn’t use them).

The towels and bedding were below par in particular the lumpy pillows which should be changed immediately. Unfortunately, I felt the bathroom let it down as it smelled very damp. The shower was of a good pressure but I’m not sure if the drain can’t cope as the shower tray completely filled with water. There was also something pink stuck on the hand towel which made me feel it hadn’t been changed. I’m not sure if the write up mentioned the stairs, which were quite steep with narrow treads. Some guests may not manage them. However, I do understand that this can’t be helped in a property of this age.
