La Chintana

De rust en de natuur en het zwembad. 'S avonds en 's nachts buiten de geluiden van dieren zoals kikkers en uilen. Echt een afgelegen plek voor rustzoekers en natuurliefhebbers.

Nous avions l’appartement dans le bout de la longère. Il est semblable aux photos. Cependant nous l’avons trouvé un petit peu sombre et un peu humide. La douche est difficile à régler ce qui n’est pas évident avec un enfant en bas âge. Nous avons trouvé dommage qu’il n’y ait aucun équipement pour s’amuser dans la piscine. Ça aurait été un plus.

We hebben een heerlijk verblijf op La Chintana. De communicatie vooraf verliep heel soepel met zoon Marco en eenmaal aangekomen in Palmadula was vader Pietro ons aanspreekpunt. Zij zijn ongelooflijk gastvrij, je hebt echt even het gevoel onderdeel te zijn van hun Sardijnse familie! We verbleven in een heerlijk huisje en het zwembad bij de accommodatie voelde als een privézwembad. Een echte aanrader is om 's avonds (net voor zonsondergang) te gaan eten bij Elis Sunset; een prachtige plek aan de kust om de dag te eindigen. Andere leuke uitstapjes vanuit La Chintana zijn La Pelosa (na 18.00 uur heb je geen reservering meer nodig), Stintoni (North West sea excursions is een aanrader voor een boottocht), Capo Caccia, Alghero en Argentiera.

The cottages are lovely, the one bedroom cottage was a perfect size for myself and my husband. I'm guessing if the couch is a pullout it could also accomodate one small child or two. Bathroom had all the amenities. Loved the pressure in the shower. The kitchen had all the utensils we needed fridge, microwave, kettle, cooker. There was a bottle of water in the fridge which was great as I did not know whether we could drink water out of the tap or not. The pool area looked lovely but did not use as weather was slightly too cold. I also noticed, although did not use, two barbecues in the common areas. Marco was very good about responding to any questions we had promptly. Had 2 lovely cats keeping us company. It was a very quiet and secluded area and everything was well maintained. Quick commute to Alghero and Porto Torres to see different sights.

The good aspects of having a quiet and secluded location only has a slight downside that the road to the cottage is incredibly narrow. We had no issues as did not meet anyone when we travelled, but I would be extra cautious and beep at every corner if I was travelling during high season. Also, not exactly sure where all the cars would park if all the cottages were rented out (maybe around the back?). If you are looking for a quiet and secluded place, with well appointed cottages and a nice pool area, I would definitely recommend La Chintana.
