Rushing Stone Cottage

Very cute place , but bus everywher. Iniside and out.

Bugs inside the house and no seating around the fire pit. Bugs and moths followed cell phones. My wife got bitten by a yellow jack nest.

We loved the remote location and the cottage was cozy. The beds are small but comfortable and it was a perfect size cottage for 4 people. The host was great and communicated well with us. Overall we had a great stay and enjoyed relaxing in the cottage!

The cottage is rustic and we were prepared for that. However, it could use a little more deep cleaning and supplies such as trash bags, dish cloths and kitchen towels.

It was nice place but hard keep warm front door was hard opening it need to be cut down so want be on floor no phone srivce the remote not work that good for tv

Beautiful. Private. Nicely decorated. Lots of room and comfortable sleeping arrangements.

This is a secluded property up a steep driveway. We arrived on a cold day with heavy rain promised for our 2 night stay. It was a great place to spend cozy evenings watching TV and playing board games. The heat quickly warmed the open plan downstairs and upstairs where the second bedroom and bath were. That floor had a wood burning fireplace and alcove with a futon, neither of which were used. There is a well stocked kitchen with pots, utensils, glass ware, coffee makers (take your pick--Kuerig, French press or drip ) and K-cups and some teas as well as a fully stocked spice cabinet. A firering outside and porch makes this a great home base for a summer in the mountains. Close to W Jefferson, New River, Glendale Springs abd Laurel Springs as well as the now open Blue Ridge Parkway.

A larger parking area at the house is needed to allow larger SUVs to turn around.

Very nice place. Quiet and remote.

We’ve stayed here before and love the cottage’s rustic charm.

The drive needs some attention due to rainwater creating deep grooves in the gravel.
