"Exceptional"

10.0

Excellent location, close to Ring of Kerry and other picturesque sights, and very cute apartment! The donkeys were also adorable. Host was also amazing and helped us out of a tough situation post snowy conditions. Personally took the time to get our car out and drive us back into town -- can't thank him enough! Highly recommend this booking.

"Would highly recommend this amazing place. Such a warm environment"

Beautiful location. Far away out of the city to feel secluded but close enough to be around the corner. Lovely stay, had everything we needed. Home away from home. Exactly what we needed

"This was outstanding!! Don’t let the “old farm” reference put you off—there is nothing old about the accommodation."

"Idyllic and beautiful, close to town by car, cozy and clean"

9.0

The property was on a beautiful spot of land, it was so nice to go into the glass windowed porch or right out to the yard for a morning coffee. Extremely peaceful. Loved the two sweet and friendly donkeys.

For us the in law apartment was great, we were 2 adults, 1 child. The only thing that would have been helpful would be to have access to some fans, one for the back room.

Tadgh has been extremely kind and helpful, the house is big and in a great position to reach both the Ring of Kerry and the Dingle peninsula, quite close to various petrol stations and supermarkets and is immersed in a garden with even two donkeys just steps away from the door. The bathroom is tiny but the shower works perfectly and has very hot water, beds are comfortable and overall it could probably benefit from some improvements, but we were happy.

"A generally fine stay"

7.0

Location and view The donkeys, who were very friendly and expressive. The fact that the taxi drivers couldn't find it without a postcode or equivalent. Watching them getting more and more uppity as the road narrowed and narrowed was funny. They could always try using a map! As in a physical map, it wasn't exactly off the beaten track.

Minor things: the lighting in the bedroom: better bedside lamps would make a difference. The lack of any blinds or curtains on the conservatory. The fact that the shower/toilet was off the main bedroom, but there isn't a huge amount that can be done about that!

"Poor"

3.0

The hot shower, the smart TV, the donkeys in the garden, and the close proximity to Killarney.

The description of the property didn't accurately correspond to what my family and I experienced. Certain things have not been disclosed. It is worth noting that the property is a basement converted into a guest house. There is no soundproofing whatsoever; we could clearly hear when people were urinating and pacing on the floor above or when things were dropped on the floor upstairs. We were woken up each morning of our stay by the sound of the toilet upstairs being flushed; the waste pipe of the upstairs bathroom is positioned right above the bedroom where my wife and son were sleeping (the room furthest to the right as you enter through the front door). One night around 11:30 pm, as we were asleep, the toilet upstairs was flushed 5 times in succession waking me and my wife up in the process. It sounded like the nearby Torc falls had come crashing down upon us. Also, the guest house is in need of maintenance. The lino covering the floor of both bedrooms is bulging at places and has a tear in it in the bedroom closest to the entrance. It is also laid on uneven ground that has not been scrimed and leveled. This creates a tripping risk. The architrave of the bathroom door has come off the wall at the top and needs to be nailed back in. The metal banister of the outside staircase leading to the property is rusty and sharp at places and in need of sanding and recoating. The dining room is in the conservatory, which adjoins the living room/kitchen, and lacks any form of curtains or blinds, meaning that anyone who strolls past the window can look in; there is no privacy at all. And the view from this room is simply sub-par. In the photos of the property you can see that it offers an astounding view of the lake and the mountains beyond. The pictures lie. The view is of a hedge and two apple trees, a field for donkeys and if the weather is good, a small bit of mountain.
