GBNot a lot really, maybe the kitchen and facilities
The road that passed by the property ran directly outside the cottage, there was no pavement, would be a no no for families with kids. Used as a pathway for public and a road. The car park at the back was very difficult to pay, peoples cards were being declined and the parking charge stated £8 for a 24 hr stay yet you couldn't pay that amount on the card machine, it skipped from £6 to £12. However the other machine that was coins only would give you a 24 hr ticket for £6. The cottage was very old fashioned with a complete cross section of furniture and pictures that didn't go together, very dark and the lighting was required during the day. There was a musty smell in the living room with paint peeling off the wall. The balcony on the twin bedroom overlooked the car park. The hot water tank wouldn't even give a reasonable bath, the shower was either very hot or cold, unmanageable, forget it. The cold water tap in the bathroom did not work, was too hard to turn on. The sink in the double bedroom was not secured to the wall, and the dressing table mirror was too low to be used. The duvet was warm and lightweight which was adequate, however the duvet cover and sheets felt like thin Nylon but were actually Polyester/Cotton. Overall it wasn't up to scratch for the needs and wants of a competitive market in the modern day We would not stay here again
GBWe loved everything about the property. Was so welcoming and homely, with a family feeling. Lovely spotless kitchen, comfortable lounge with everything for our cosy log burner evenings. Quirky floors upstairs come with the age and well loved property. A stone’s throw from the Fountain Inn and harbour. So good we are booking again for September 😄
Another night!!!😄😄☀️
GBLocation was great, parking convenient, large well equipped kitchen. Very cosy in living room. Like staying with your auntie.
Cold tap did not turn in bathroom so was unusable, sink in bedroom was loose off wall. House cold on arrival (was February though) beds were uncomfortable mattress was springy.
GBThe location was fantastic, we were less than 10 minutes to the harbour (walking) and all the amenities like the pub! The cottage has a homely friendly feel and it was extremely clean. It’s a lovely old building with lots of quirks, we loved the wonky floors! The kitchen is well equipped and even has a dish washer which was nice. Also a hairdryer and set of straighteners were provided which was also a nice touch.
Nothing really. I suppose if I had to make one criticism, not supplying towels is fine but at least a hand towel in the bathroom would have been useful, and a bit more loo roll!
GBSELF CATERING
THE HOT WATER FOR THE BATH WAS NOT SUFFICIENTLY WARM FOR A BATH. THE MAIN OVEN DID NOT WORK. LIMITED COOKING UTENSILS.
GBCottage was very clean and tidy! Very cental location and very handy with car parking! Would deffanitly stay again!
