Acheron Cottages

Lovely warm clean comfortable cottage. Location was great....short drive to the jetty where the boats leave from.

We stayed in this place two nights at the beginning of February, before and after the Milford Sound cruise. It is about 2 hours from where the cruise starts, and a nice drive it is (we stopped at various sites on the drive back, as we wanted to make sure we arrived at the cruise on time). The place is kind in the middle of nowhere, which is pretty nice, it is well equipped, including a BBQ, which we used the second night. On the first night, we arrived pretty late. Jo waited for us, and when we learned that there was no open restaurant in the area, she brought us some eggs so we could cook dinner ourselves. There are a couple of units in the property, and we hung out with the nice Australian couple next door. Would certainly recommend this place.

Everything you need for a family get away

Jo is nice and friendly. The room is comfortable. We had a great stay.

Nothing personally, but a long walk if you want to go to the nearest bar/restaurant. We didn't need to as we cooked and ate at the property.

Durch die fußläufige Entfernung zur Anlegestelle der Doubtfull Sound Cruiser war die Lage perfekt. Man hat einen schönen Ausblick, eine sehr gut ausgestattete Küche mit Herd und viel Platz. Im Sommer ist der eigene Grill neben dem Cottage bestimmt prima. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt.

Location was good. It allowed you to explore an area outside the popular attraction areas. Beautiful.

Very close to Manapouri centre, on the main rd but was quiet. Was better value than staying in Te Anau and was only 15mins to get to Te Anau by car.

Would appreciate some fresh milk upon arrival. Too many ‘rules’

Wonderful hospitality from our host, Jo. Excellent, clean and convenient accommodation.
