The location and property are just sublime. We will be returning for sure.

Loved it all

The location was perfect with walks near by and village a short trip in the car. You could walk to the local shops if a keen hiker. There were also some interesting places to visit near by.

The only real negative was we couldn't let the dogs off lead in the garden.

Fruit, cereals, bread, eggs butter, oil, coffee, tea, milk, sauces and condiments were all in the kitchen upon arrival. Every need seemed to be catered for. Throughout the booking, Lynne was helpful and informative. The whole experience was great. As is the location! We were left with a welcome pack of essentials including bread, milk, pastries, cereals and fruit. This was in addition to usual kitchen stock items you really appreciate at properties e.g. salt and pepper, oil, sauces. Host arranged celebratory banner and balloons as well which was a lovely touch!

There is nothing I can say we didn't like.

The property was clean, comfortable, very well equipped, and surprisingly spacious! We really enjoyed the views of the countryside and the wildlife. The location was great for exploring the Peak District and beyond. We visited Buxton, Bakewell, Hathersage, Castleton, Bolsover Castle, Manchester and Barnsley... plus many spots in-between! The hosts were brilliant in ensuring we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Hartcliffe Retreat to anyone looking to stay in the area.
