Carlton Cottage, Castleton

The cottage is very cozy, clean, well-situated, and the owner provides lots of info and recommendations for guests, one feels quite welcome. There is a supermarket right across the street and some nice walking trails nearby

Squeaky floors and doors in the bedrooms and bathroom, not ideal when travelling more than one. There were only an already started toilet paper roll and an additional whole one for our three night stay despite us having booked for four people. This was not enough and when we asked the owner if we could find more somewhere in the apartment, we were told no and that's all that stays of three nights get. This felt stingy and like trying to save pennies in the wrong place. It's a shame since it left a bad taste in an otherwise nice accommodation.

The location was perfect. A beautiful little village nestled away with stunning views yet with every amenity you could want - 2 great pubs, a tea room, co-op, playground and a train station direct to Whitby! The cottage itself was so quaint and cosy, modern yet traditional. Comfortable beds, everything you need, nice and clean!

The local cockeril! 😂 The stairs to the top bedroom are very steep and narrow and maybe difficult for someone with reduced mobility.

Excellent. Extremely clean with really good quality furnishings. Better than expected. Owners have gone the extra mile.

The cottage was beautifully furnished and so comfortable. We really appreciated the information about the area and tried some of the walks suggested.

Great location, lovely cottage and everything you needed was there. Cottage was in great condition.
