The Haven Cottage

We stayed in a lovely old cottage. In Slammanan village. It has off road parking, which is a great bonus. Our hosts were very friendly and welcoming. The cottage was clean, quite comfortable and really quite spacious rooms. The cottage has old well kept wooden floors in lounge and hallway. It had high ceilings, windows, contemporary looking. Very lovely cottage in all. Also nice and private enough. Some of the rooms had fresh flowers in vases. There are a a few good views from a couple of the windows. There is a nice little garden, with some seating around and a raised seated table area. The cottage was quite reasonably priced. The village itself is quiet, it is 5-6 miles from Falkirk town. There are some lovely views around, you are quite high up. The roads do not have much in the way of road lights, if you are traveling at night. So either drive, take the bus or a taxi to Falkirk town (£16-20) The village has a shop, community library, Chinese takeaway( there are hardly any take outs, will deliver this far out) which was very good and reasonable and a fish and chip shop. There is an hourly bus service, which goes through the village. We saw the bus a few times making the rounds. So we can verify that.

The cottage is lovely. However the front garden could perhaps benefit from a slight improvement. It could have instead of the grass which was a little depleted, in one section. Pebbles/gravel. There were nice flower pots around. It would be low maintenance and better if you are taking pets.

Nice location right next to a park which was great for walking the dog everyday. The cottage was charming and very spacious. The owner was very welcoming and The cottage was very well equipped with everything you need for a great stay. Our little dog was made very welcome

Large, somewhat quirky accommodation. Well equipped kitchen. off road parking. Comfy beds.

Location was fine, easy to get out and about to places we wanted to visit.

Property very old fashioned just needed some tlc. Fridge freezer not working properly and found a pair of trainers in bottom drawer of freezer - not very hygienic as obviously not been checked or cleaned. Also dripping tap in kitchen.

Spacious, well equipped and comfortable. The owner Michelle went out of her way to make us feel welcome- recommending places to eat and visit.
