The Stables - Bankshill

We had a truly wonderful stay at The Stables. The accommodation was beautifully cosy while still feeling very luxurious, and it was exceptionally comfortable throughout. Everything was finished to a very high standard, with a particularly stunning bathroom that really stood out. The host was incredibly helpful and friendly from start to finish. Nothing felt like too much trouble, and he very kindly went out of his way to arrange an extra bed at short notice when our daughter unexpectedly stayed with us. That level of care and flexibility made a big difference. Although we didn’t get the chance to use the hot tub, it looked fantastic and would be a lovely addition to an already special stay. We couldn’t be happier with both the accommodation and the customer service. Highly recommended!

Everything!! The location of the stables, the amazing views, the hot tub, how quiet and peaceful it was. It had everything we needed or could have wanted. The hosts (paul and Fiona) were lovely and very helpful and welcoming.

The stables is a little bit of paradise nestled into a beautiful countryside location near the town of Lockerbie. You are spoiled from the moment you enter not just by the tasteful and comfortable interior but also with a lovely assortment of cheese and crackers , very nice Prosecco and lovely fresh eggs that Fiona and Paul leave as a gift for you. There was also a great assortment of teas available, and both instant and ground coffee to use in the stove top mokka which was a big hit with my husband. The garden to the rear of the property is fully enclosed which was great for our dog to wander in and this is where the amazing wood fired hot tub is. Paul had it prepared for us arriving and it was the perfect place to relax and look at the millions of jewel like stars in the light pollution free sky at night. Fiona and Paul also left a great little information book about the cottage and what to see and where to go in the surrounding area which we found really useful for a bit of exploring during the day. All in all we had a great and very relaxing stay at the stables and we will definitely be back, have already recommended it to friends .

Fantastic little hideaway I had a fantastic time there with my Beautiful Wonderful wife. Fiona and Paul were lovely provided us with a warm welcome and explained everything we needed to know.
